  1. Feed the paper manually into the printer:
    1. Place a sheet of plain A4 paper in the paper feed tray.
    2. Move the paper support on the left-hand side to the left end of the paper.
    3. Press the paper feed button.
    4. If the paper does not feed, continue with step 2.
  2. Check for any obstructions in the paper feed path:
    1. Disconnect the cables from the back of the printer.
    2. Open the front of the printer and check for anything that may be blocking the paper path.
    3. Close the front lid and remove any paper from the paper feed tray.

MY FR-2650A always PaperJam...Cannot feed the paper

Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the paper: Make sure you're using the correct type of paper for your calculator. The FR-2650A requires 2 1/4 inch (57mm) wide plain paper rolls. If the paper is too thick or too thin, it can cause jams.
  2. Remove any jammed paper: Turn off the calculator and remove the paper roll. Gently remove any jammed paper from the paper feeding mechanism. Make sure to remove any torn pieces of paper or debris.
  3. Clean the paper feed mechanism: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the paper feed mechanism. Dust and debris can accumulate in the mechanism, causing paper jams.
  4. Check the paper feed roller: Use a cotton swab or soft, damp cloth to clean the paper feed roller. Make sure it's free of debris or dust.
  5. Replace the paper roll: Make sure the paper roll is properly installed. The paper should unroll from the bottom of the roll towards the front of the calculator. The paper should be flush against the paper feed roller.
  6. Test the calculator: Turn on the calculator and test it by printing a few lines. If the paper still jams, try a new paper roll.
If none of these steps work, there may be a mechanical issue with the calculator. In this case, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional repair service for assistance.

Trying to put in a new paper roll

Turn off the Sharp EL-1801V.

  • 2 Cut the end of the replacement paper roll for a fresh edge and to ensure a smooth feed. Do not tear the paper roll, as feeding a torn paper roll can cause a paper jam.
  • 3 Insert the cut edge into the paper opening on the back of the Sharp EL-1801V. Hold the paper roll so that the edge being fed into the machine is coming from the bottom of the roll. Turn the power on.
  • 4 Press the "Feed" button until the paper is fed through the unit. Lift the metal paper roll holder up. Slide the paper roll onto the paper-roll holder.

How do I install adding machine paper roll

Slide off the upper cover of the calculator, and cut across the paper roll to form a clean end.
If you are mounting the roll externally (outside of the back of the calculator), then look for a slot in the rear of the calculator, which will accept the paper. Feed the end of the paper through the rear slot, and then into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After that, you can flip the arm back to mount the roll and replace the upper cover.
If you want to place the roll inside of the calculator, then you need to feed from the bottom of the roll into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After you are finished, replace the upper cover.

Paper doesn't always feed, and when it does, the paper rolls through without printing

Get a Q-Tip and alcohol. Wet Q-tip with alcohol. Stand in front of the printer and look down where the paper feeds through. On the righthand side you will see a big roller that pulls the paper through and a little one right up under that. Clean both of them with the alcohol and Q-tip. Press the paper feed button and as it trys to act like it is feeding the paper, clean the roller with the Q-tip. Do this until the paper feeds through correctly.

Cannot load new paper roll into the calculator so it catches

Replacing the paper roll involves feeding the evenly cut, uniform end of the roll through the fine slot located under the paper arm at the back of the calculator. (Even if the paper is only slightly wrinkled or cut unevenly, it will not feed through the teeth in the loading area.)
When getting ready to feed the paper into the calculator, envision your printout feeding out of the machine away from you and back toward the paper roll. Don't insert it upside down.
To get the paper feeding through once you have partially fed it into the teeth, gently tap the paper feed button. Once or twice should do it. (The button is located on the far top left of the control panel, indicated by an arrow jagged saw mark icon).
Then, slide the paper roll onto the feeder arm and you're in business.
