Connect this TV with any other sources, ie, to a DVD player. check whether there is sound output with DVD player. If yes, the audio processing circuit of your TVs main board should be troubleshooted. If there is no sound even DVD player, the speaker of your TV is faulty.

Most probably the TV system is not compatible.
This VCR/DVD uses NTSC formate. Is the DVD in PAL formate. Also the Region code can be different. This DVD palys DVD-Disks with regional code 1 or All.

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it.
