If you inadvertantly try to wash a large load with the water set to small the motor will be overloaded causing it to smell hot and kick out.
If this was your problem it will most likely work again when the motor resets.
Good luck

My front load washing machine is working but the water don't seem to enter.

First of all check filters in hoses & water valves, if ok then water inlet valve may be burnt out. Unplug power cord, remove top panel panel, check where 2 wires go to each water valve & check that area on valves for burning. If burnt or smells of burning, replace valve. IN SOME INSTANCES A COMPONENT BURN OUT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO CONTROL BOARD.

My LG washer stopped mid-load at spin cycle, how can I fix this?

It sounds like a serious fault if there is no power the fuse has gone or some item has burnt out . You will have to arrange for a service engineer to look at it more closely.

I have a sour smell coming from my washer that does not seem to go away, what is the problem? I have seen many other postings on the internet about their having this problem, seems to be the washer.

After the odor has been removed washing habits need to change so it doesn't return. Washing machine odor is caused by

1. Overuse of detergent. Use no more than 1 tbsp of whatever detergent is used (unless washing soiled clothing).
2. Using fabric softener because it's dispensed in the rinse cycle. Dryer sheets or dryer balls are better options. Dryer sheets can also be overused and coat the inside of the dryer with siliconized chemicals that cause clothing to retain odors. Sensors inside the dryer can also be affected. The sheets can be torn in half or thirds
3. Using mainly cold water for washing is fine but makes preventive maintenance important. A hot wash or soak as your last cycle on wash day will help to dissolve residue.
4. Many front loading washer have a filter/trap that will catch debris. A partially clogged filter/trap can cause draining problems and odor. Save money on appliance repair by cleaning it yourself. Consult your owner's manual for instruction.

Dryer will not dry clothes in single cycle, and towels smell burnt why?

Check the entire air vent system for lint obstruction. Remove the lint filter and wash in hot water and detergent--fabric softener sheets will build deposits on this screen, which restricts air flow.

Washer stopped working all together

Hi,Check your water solenoid valve, the part where you connect (2) hoses, could be burnt out, sometimes they do, especially if your water pressure home (building) is low, or could be your motor, remove back of machine and check water valve, check valve with ohm tester, or visual check can tell you, if burnt out, replace it, few things could burnt out, motor, capacitor, switches/relay etc, but first check water intake (solenoid) valve, also, check / reset, fuse/circuit breaker, probably went of, when burning smell occurs, ( happened) if it's not your water intake valve, let me know, we can check other possibilities. but i believe it's your valve, good luck.

Clothes smell on some cycles

You need to clean the tubs.

Unplug the machine.

Remove the agitator top. Remove the screw or plastic sleeve that holds the agitator down. A 1/2 inch socket extension will fit in the plastic sleeve. Pull the agitator out.

Now you will need to remove the nut that holds the inner tub. A spanner wrench is the best way, but you can use a large screwdriver to lossen the nut. Pull the inner tub. If it doesn't release take a hammer and a driving tool aka anything that will reach and not destroy the crown and tap all the way around the crown. If that doesn't release it, get someone to tap while you pull the tub. Be careful not to break the fill tube. I have broken quite a few being in a hurry. Haste makes waste.

Now with the tub pulled, clean the inside of the outer tub and the outside of the inner tub. Reassemble the machine.

FYI, liquid fabric softener and/or using too much detergent will cause the sewage smell. Liquid fabric softener is terrible for your machine. Use dryer sheets if you can adapt to them.
