We just bought a new Dyson animal. Most of our home is hardwood, but the carpeted areas are impossible to push. Suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties using your DC14 Animal on this particular carpet. It might help to check you have your brush control adjusted to the correct setting - you can find out how to do this in the user guide supplied with your cleaner. In case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

You may also want to contact your carpet manufacturer to check it's suitable for cleaning with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a revolving brush. Manufacturers sometimes recommend cleaning certain types of carpeting using suction only.
