Hi! I have a HP PSC 2175ix all in one printer and a Mac OS X 10.5 notebook. My computer doesn't seem to recognize the printer. i have gone to the hp website and downloaded the software but it does not support mac ox 10.2 and higher. Can someone please help me and let me know what i can do. thank you.

You need to download the appropriate drivers on your Mac to allow it to understand how to talk to your printer. This is described at the HP website:

For some reason, I had to get the HP 4.0.1 software via Apple Software Update manually for my PSC 1350 all-in-one.

Maybe that will point you in the right direction, seeing as the HP site doesn't have a specific osx10.0 driver listed yet.

Hi, If the problem is simple the connection itself, most of the newer Macs have USB and PS2 ports.  The HP printer should have a USB port.  Here is a link to a HP page that has alot of info about that printer including the manuals and specifications: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&cc=us&product=441115
You will need to make sure that you have the compatible Mac operating system depending on how old your Mac is.  This printer requires: Mac OS 10.4 or later, Mac OS 10.3 or later, Mac OS 10.2.3 or later (Mac OS 10.2.6 or later recommended)

I just installed the software and am now scanning problem-free.

The HP CD and web download were created before Mac OS X v10.5 development and release so there may be problems with the install process. They are yet to release new package to suit check here for details and updates
