Cant login to facebook

First, if you're ever unsure if a website is down or it's your computer, you might want to try using http://isitup.org/. Is it up basically allows you to figure out if "facebook.com" works for other people.
If it does, and you still cannot access it, you might want to try pinging facebook to see if their server can connect to your computer. When you ping another computer, you basically say "can you hear me?" and, if the other computer receives the request, it responds "yes I can." To ping facebook, click on start, then run and type "cmd" then hit enter. You should get a DOS prompt (a big black window). At the prompt, type 'ping www.facebook.com' without the single quotes. If your computer can connect to the facebook server, you will see a time response (usually milliseconds). If your computer cannot connect to the facebook server, you will see an error of "request timed out." This means it took too long for facebook to respond to your computer and something is blocking the connection, most likely a firewall.
If your computer responds to the ping request ok, then you most likely need to clear your cookies and cache in your internet browser. Click here to find instructions on how to clear cookies and cache for most major web browsers. http://www.ehow.com/how_6135104_clear-browser_s-cookies.html

First Facebook kept tellinjg me that cookies were not enabled. I checked and they were. First Party and third party cookies accepted and accept all cookie sessions. Facebook is also listed in Trusted...

I had several problems with facebook on my regular browser. So I just got Firefox and I haven't got a problem with it anymore. Also did you tried to delete all cookies? Your browser should have this option listed under tools, preferences or security.

My wife and I share the same computer. When I go to facebook.com she is automatically logged in without having an option of who to log in.

Logout from her account.
Close Internet Explorer.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press ENTER
Type CD COOKIES
Press ENTER
Type DIR *facebook*
Press ENTER, to show the "cookies" that FaceBook has planted on your computer.
Type ERASE *facebook*
Press ENTER, to delete those "cookies".

Thus, the next time you access FaceBook's web-site, those "cookies" (and her ID and password) won't be available.

Hopefully, your wife remembers her FaceBook ID and her password -- to avoid a messy divorce, ask her, before deleting those "cookies".

Facebook log in problem Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.

Thank you for visiting Fixya forums.

There are several reasons you may be getting this error code. Each will be suggested below:

Firewall

Change your firewall settings in the Security Preference Pane to 'Allow all incoming connections'. Check to make sure you don't have a firewall running that has stopped iPhoto from communicating with Facebook.

Cookies

This error code may be an issue with the cookie that Firefox or Safari uses to store the Exporter's login info. You need to delete the Facebook cookie called "isfbe". In Firefox you can do this by going to your preferences, clicking on "Privacy," then find the Show Cookies button. Find the one whose name contains the term "isfbe". Then click Delete Cookie.

For Safari you also go to preferences, but first click on "Security," then click Show Cookies and find the aforementioned cookie and delete it.

After this, just go back to the Facebook Exporter in iPhoto and login again, this time you will have no connection problem.

iPhoto

iPhoto, a problem lies in a conflict with the latest point update for iPhoto '08, version 7.1.3. Maybe it will work if you reinstall iPhoto, update to 7.1.2, copy the iPhoto application and rename it "iPhoto old," and then run Software Update and bring it up to date to get the bug fixes in the latest update for your main copy of iPhoto.

Note: I don't know if it will change the library format at all with 7.1.3.
The FAQ/support page for the Facebook Exporter for iPhoto is here: <http://www.facebook.com/help.php?page=718>

1. Log out of Facebook through your web browser.
2. Go to Facebook Exporter for iPhoto, click Login.
3. This will open a Facebook login page in your web browser.
4. Log in but do not check "Save my login info..."
5. Go back to iPhoto, hit continue, and export your photos.

Sometimes an error message may still occur while uploading the photos, but retry and eventually it should work.

LittleSnitch

If you have Little Snatch running on your computer it may be blocking iPhoto from access port 80.

For some reason with the Facebook export it doesn't pop up and prompt you to allow access. Allow access in LittleSnitch my Facebook plugin for iPhoto may allow you to start connecting properly.

FULL Reset of Safari
You can remove all history, cache, cookies, etc.

Firefox History
If your browser is Firefox, clear history.
