How to reset a laptop CY25? - Fosa CY25 Laptop

Step 1:

make sure your dvd burner is on.for xp:

1. Click on the "Start" button and then click on the "My Computer" option. Right click on the DVD drive from the list of drives.

2. Click on the "Properties" option and the "DVD Drive Properties" dialog box will appear on your screen.
3. Click on the "Hardware" tab and then click on your DVD drive. Click on the "Properties" option below the "Device Properties" heading.
4. Click on the "Driver" tab and then click the "Enable" option. Click on the "OK" button to save your changes.
5. Insert the DVD you want to burn into your DVD drive and a dialog box will appear on your screen with the option to burn the DVD.

Let me know if you need it for another OS

Step 2:

figure out if it can read DVD. If it can, your burner or disc is having the issue

Step 3:

make sure you're using the right type of dvd. (dvd-r vs. dvd+r).

Step 4:

use a different dvd and if possible from a different source or brand. if it burns then that particular cd is faulty or computer has difficulty burning from that particular source or brand of dvd.

Step 5:

if you're still having issue, it maybe your burning software. Try a different one. I know that windows 7 and beyond have one and there are trials for dvd burners online.

Put the User Name administrator and try without password may be your lapi is open.

Let me ask you this: Did OS-you didn't say which one- recognize Your HD when you try to install it?If HD is installed properly - then problem is that OS has no drivers for it. Meaning- try another OS.More data would be helpful.

There are 2 ways you can reset your bios.

1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete

2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete


This is a great troubleshooting step for those of you having POST issues or no POSTing at all. Like other troubleshooting steps, this will not always work but usually will depending on the problem.

Unfortunately, the charger socket in the motherboard does not drive electricity to the battery to get re-charge it. It is a typically motherboard problem(Do not confused with a power jack problem). I can not be repaired it.
Two options work always hook with power adapter or get ride of her.

ok for some reason by running the game morrowind it fixed my display. Dont ask why, I dont know but thanks anyway. Maybe it has something to do with the mods that I have put on it.(morrowind)

Compal manufactured this computer and it was sold under many different manufacturers names.
To remove optical drive: Extract the two screws in the base that obviously attach to the drive. Remove cover from memory, roughly in centre of base, and you will see a screw that secures the drive. Remove the screw and the drive will slide out. Remove the bracket on rear of drive, attach to new drive and reverse above procedure. Memory is located under the said cover and also under the keyboard. Not too difficult to remove keyboard. Remove switch panel after removing screws in back of hinges. You will see several screws on rear of keyboard. Remove these (very small) and keyboard will swing upwards and out. Beware ribbon cable connector underneath as removing keyboard. You will then see second memory location. Max mem 1G
