Unscrew the crown anticlockwise until it pops out then turn it clockwise about 50 times.
If the hand or date move, you pulled the pin too far. Push it back in and continue winding.

35 hrs if you do not move it at all. If you wear it continuously you will never have to wind it again!

SOURCE: keeping 2008 breitling cockpit watch running

You have to wind the watch till it is fully wound (significant resistance should be felt).
It doesn't matter how many times you wind it (1 or even 40) - what matters is the strength of the spring.
Do as follows:
At any time in the morning wind the watch up till you feel there is no more winding left (should be quite tough). Memorize the time you did it.
Leave the watch (or wear it) till it stops completely.
Count the hours your watch did work (from the time you wound it).
Now you know exact power reserve for your watch.
It is advised to wind the watch 2-3 hours before the power reserve is gone.

On most.  Turn the winding screw anti-clockwise until it clicks and pops out slightly. Pull it all the way out or half way out to change the time or date.

Hi snapper,

I suppose when you're setting the time on your watch, passing the midnight marker the date changes. In that case you can go to the date funcion and reset the date.

My watch not working how to setup

  1. Check the battery: Before attempting to set up your watch, make sure that the battery has not run down. If the battery is dead, you will need to have it replaced by a professional watchmaker or authorized Breitling service center.
  2. Wind the watch: If the battery is not dead, you may need to wind the watch to get it started. Most Breitling watches have a self-winding mechanism, but if it has not been worn for a long time, it may need to be manually wound.
  3. Set the time: Once the watch is running, you can set the time by pulling out the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) and turning it until the hands are set to the correct time. Push the crown back in when the time is set.
  4. Set the date: If your watch has a date function, you can set the date by pulling the crown out to the second position and turning it until the date changes. Push the crown back in when the date is set.
  5. Synchronize the time: If your watch has a chronograph function (stopwatch), you may need to synchronize the time to ensure that it is accurate. You can do this by starting the chronograph and waiting for it to complete a full revolution.

A breitling watch, i need to take the winding stem out so i can fix the watch. it is a reveil quartz model made about 1995.

obviously you do not know... if you do - you will not ask the question...

now, i would strongly suggest to find authorised breitling repairer, or at least good watch repairer with tools of trade, this watch have still value between $1000.00 and $5000.00

My A24322 is not working. Pl let me know how to get this started. Is this an automatic watch or a winding watch?

Your watch is an automatic (self winding) watch which can be started by swinging it gently from side to side for some minutes to wind the spring up.

For details see their web site by inserting the following link into your search engine http://www.breitling.com/en/index.php#/models/navitimer/navitimer-world/.

Self winders rely on being used to keep them wound and operate best if used every day.

Breitling Colt Kinetic Watch - not working

I read the instructions for a similar type of watch and while the battery will keep the watch "alive" for some months when not in use, eventually the battery dies.

Since it is a kinetic watch the instructions I read said that you should gently shake the watch about 500 times to recharge the battery!

If you give it a good shake and then wear it for a few days, it should recharge itself, although it may have forgotten the time and may need re-setting.

Good luck!

My watch ticks for 10 to 15 seconds then then stops then i shake it and it continues then stops again what could it be

You have an self winding watch and to wind is up fully using the self winding mechanism you need to shake it for some time.

I think it is likely that you can winding it manually using the crown. You may have to pull the crown out to find the manual winding position.

The crown may be locked in and if it doesn't pull out , try turning it anticlockwise then pull it out.

You should have some instructions with your watch, if you haven't contact your supplier and ask for a copy.

If you wish to find your nearest retailer, go to "Brietling.com" for a store locator.

Watch looses time. Breitling 1884

It sounds like your either not moving enough to wind it (try winding manually) or it needs a service (gear oil gone sticky) to free it up.
