Could be the bake element or the board If it has a oven control board. If the board is bad it won’t bake or broil so try broil if that works it’s the bake element that you’ll need to replace
Assuming this is on a gas range, the bake burner ( under the oven floor) and the broil burner ( at the top of the oven) have electric igniters . When switching from bake to broil the broiler goes off due to a defective or broken broil igniter. cheap part to replace ( +-$40.00)
Bake and broil elements can be tested with an ohm meter for continuity. There is a relay in control / clock for both bake and broil elements. If elements test good, then those relays need to be tested for voltage.
It may be possible that the electronic control is bad. On some models there are three relays one for the bake and one for the broil and one for the common. This one goes out and the bake and broil will not work. The control is fairly expensive you may want to have a tech check it out.
TRY THIS... If the buttons are "stuck", the glass panel may have shifted to the right or left causing the holes in the glass (through which the button protrude) to rub against the glass. VERY CARFULLY try to shift the glass so the buttons are centered in the holes.
Hello there: first chevck to see if the broil feature will work but if both the broil and bake feature does not work meaning it will not heat up if you have selected either the bake or broil follow these solutions that i have provided for you . It won't bake or broilIf neither the bake nor the broiler heating
elements heat, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set
for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons
and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for
man(ual)", push the knob in and try the baking and broiling elements
again. If it still does not operate properly, you probably have a defect
in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. If the oven does not have a separate
bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem may be with the thermostat.
But it's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper
operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified
appliance repair technician.
I have the same problem, however I found that if I just hold the Bake, Broil.ect button in until you hear the relay click then the oven functions normally.
