My lq 2180 printer is not aligned properly.printing starts 2 to 3 inches from start of page.jump in every next page is increased by half inch.kindly guide Thanks

please check the paper size and the procedure is below.
open printer properties and then go to the printing preferences and then there slect there appropriate paper size according to your paper being used in printer.
hopefully it will work perfect.

Epson LQ-2180 continuous printing problem

The default paper height is 12". If you want to change it to 11" you should refer to printer manual and follow the steps. Otherwise if you are using a software for printing. Ask your developer to give following command for setting paper height

Chr(27) + Chr(67) + Chr(0) + Chr(11)

Automatic paper adjustment

Goto File, Page Set Up, Margins.

Be sure "Marigns" is in the "Inches" setting.

Enter 3.0 inch in two boxes; Topp, & Bottom.

If you still have your printer manual. Look up the instructions for calibration. That will fix it.

Speed of print

A printer is designed to print at a certain ppm (page per minute), so really there is only one way to speed it up. When you select the print option from the File menu, you can select properties and see if you can change the dpi (dots per inch) of the document. Your document will print faster but you will lose quality.

Epson LQ-2180 continuous printing problem

An Emulation driver will fix everyones problem... Do this:

1. Click on "Start", then "Control Panel" and then "Printers and Faxes".
2. In the left hand column choose the option "Add Printer". The "Add Printer Wizard" comes up, click on "Next".
3. At the "Local or Network Printer" screen choose "Local" and remove the check from "Automatically Detect".
4. Click on "Next".
5. At the "Select Port" screen choose the appropriate port (usually LPT1: recommended printer port).
6. At the install printer software screen choose "Epson" under "Manufacturer" and LQ-1050 for the printer, then click "Next". If you wanted to install the Windows universal driver, choose "generic" under "Manufacturer" and choose "Text Only", then click "Next".
7. At the printer name screen choose "Next".
8. When asked if you would like the printer to be default make the appropriate selections and then click "Next".
9. Finally click on "Finish". You may need your Windows XP installation disk.
