Maytag Stack, Can't spin to start anymore

I have Maytag Stack(washer dryer combo). For the last month or so after taping down the door button I could by hand spin the drum while pressing the start button to get the dryer started, kind of push start, once started it ran and worked perfectly. Now that doesn't work anymore the drum still spins freely but won't start, when the start button is pressed sometimes you hear a Hummm very very faintly.

My question is: is there a start capacitor for the motor or does the motor have start windings to get it started so the motors bad?? Or am I in completely the wrong direction and it could be something else ? What to replace ?
