Magellan Roadmate 300T, bought new battery but it wont charge.

I replaced the battery and it wont charge up. I leave it charging in car and it still wont charge.

Make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (up to ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

the following magellan800,860,2000,2200t,2500,3000,3050,3100,3140,4000,4040,4050 and the 6000t are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc powerport...i sell these power ports and will repair them for anyone thats notable to do it themselves.

Device will not power on
I found a Magellan Roadmate in the dumpster when I was dumping the trash off my truck.They were even so kind to leave the charging cord.I figured out that the charging cord wasn't connecting to the unit when plugged in.It took 20 minutes to figure out how to pop the case open(retainer tabs on all sides in addition to the screws).Once opened up,it took 5 minutes to repair the solder connections from the power socket to he circuit board.Works like new!

When you charge it does not work
I have the same unit, and I even bought a new battery for it. After the resudal charge on the new battery wore off, it would not charge.
I now use it exclusively plugged into the cigarette lighter. When I need to update the maps, or the software, I use the USB cable.

I am still trying to get the tech manuals on it.

Magellan RoadMate 2200T won't turn on
ost times not turning on is because the battery is flat or dead. Connect it to a USB charger or and AC charger and leave it for an hour to see if there is any recovery.

If it does not have it taken to a service centre to have the charge circuit checked and a new battery.

Can I charge my magellan roadmate 1340 using the USB?
Should be able to so long as it is set up for it, plug it in and see if the power light comes on, then leave it for an hour, at that time see if you can turn the unit on. You will at this point have your answer to your question. Make sure the computer is on though. (i know, but i didn't put that in one time and i got a nasty message from somebody, so now i put it in.)

My magellan roadmate 1212 will not stay on unless plugged into
if its not charging the battery, the meter will say full even though the battery is dead..its a very common problem with alot of gps with the usb as a charging port. my solution is if this is still under warranty, i would send it back to magellan or where ever you bought it, because sooner or later the usb port is going to totally fail and wont even start up if plugged in and your going to be left with an expensive paper weight.

The battery will not charge on my magellan 1200
try hold the power button for upto 15 seconds but i suspect the power port might be damaged due to magellans poor design, you can contact them here

Magellan 2000 doesn't power up
try replacing the battery. ususally if the battery is dead it will freeze or not turn on. if this doesn't work magellan will replace it with a new one at a very reasonable price. I just replaced a magellan 800 with a magellan 3210 for $132.00. your may get a better deal. call magellan
if you have an a/c 110 volt to 5 volt converter for the magellan, try charging it in the house with that one rather than the car charger.
