The extractor fan and light stopped working at the same time, on a hood that is less than 1 year old. i think the fuse has gone but can't even locate the fuse box! there is only one fuse point in my kitchen and that's the switch for the cooker.
Hi - I have a neff extractor fan and have the same problem. The light and fan have both stopped working. Does anybody know where I can find the fuse as I suspect that this may be the problem too?
Hi
I am having a very simlilar problem. My prima hood is a few years old...first the bulbs went then the actual fan went. I think it might be the fuse but cannot locate it anywhere...have searched the whole flat and tried everything. Would it be in the hood for any reason?
Any help would be appreciated as i have no idea what to do...i can't even replace it til we find the fuse.
Many thanks in advance
My lights and fan has stopped working on my whirlpool kitchen extractor a the same time
The extractor plugs in to an outlet. Find the plug and see if the fuse in the plug has blown. In my kitchen the outlet for the extractor plug is above the cupboards over the hob, you can't see it standing on the floor and you have to get up on a chair to access it. Check in the cupboards around the cooker as well if you can't find the plug.
My light bulb blows frequently and it always takes the plug fuse with it. The fuse on mine is a 3A fuse. Good luck!

In some areas, there is a requirement for a fuse/breaker box in the kitchen for the stove or oven. There must be another electrical panel. Find it and shut off power to the hood there before doing anything else. To see if the breaker is the problem, turn breakers to off and then back on.
Does the fan and light normally come on as a pair? If so, the switch might be bad. Until you locate that breaker...we can't tell.
I'm not sure what kind of dwelling you live in. If you are in a private residence, there are wires generally from the pole outside coming to a pipe or somehow getting along the side of the residence. Generally, the fuse panel is located on an inside wall near the meter. Same will be true for a multiple dwelling. If you are renting, ask your caretaker or landlord. Generally, this is a gray steel box with a door on it. In apartments/flats, there is often a fuse/breaker panel located in a hallway above shoulder height.
Your neighbors in similar dwellings may be able to help.

The fan and light have separate switches, hence my inkling that it's probably is the fuse. Also, the fact that it is still quite new. I've tried calling Whirlpool who are the manufacturer but after much being on hold and going through a very complex call tree system, i've given up on that. The manual also indicates that if both the fan and light arent working simultaneously, then it probably is the fuse - though it doesn't then go on to tell you where the fuse is!
Can you elaborate on what you mean by breaker? Is it anything to do with the main fuse panel in the house?
No, the fan and light have separate switches, so in my case, I really think it's the fuse. The manual also indicates that if the light and fan simultaneously arent working then it is likely that it's the fuse - though it doesn't go on to tell you where it might be located!
I've also tried calling the manufacturer but lost my patience with their tediously long call tree and then unhelpful staff who had to transfer me to other departments...
Can you elaborate on what a breaker is? does it have anything to do with the main fuse box in the house?
Have a similar problem with a Neff hood extracter. Lights work, fan doesn't.
No sign of a fuse!!!
Got the same problem with my hotpoint HE63X one. The house fuse box covers the cooker only and that's in order, as are all the rest so there must be an internal fuse box as it HAS to be covered by some fuse or other. The cooker still works fine and nothing else in the kitchen has stopped
do i need a charcoal filter for my HE63X cooker hood its a hotpoint
my new cooker head bulbs (over the hob) are not workin g nor is the fan and i can only find a switch in my kitchen with the word cooker on it could switch also be for my ovenhood and extractor
my cookerheadlights have been replaced and my fan extractor is not working could a box i have found above my oven with the words COOKER wrote on it also be the same box i need to check the fuse for hob lights and extractor
