I PURCHASED MY FIRST HOME THEATRE SYSTEM FROM SONY, ( DZ 556KB ) RECENTLY. BEFORE THAT MY LISTENING APPARATUS WAS MAINLY A HI-FI STEREO SYSTEM WITH A VERY GOOD FREQUENCY RESPONSE OVER THE ENTIRE AUDIO RANGE.
THE MAIN PROBLEM I AM FACING WITH THE HOME THEATRE SYSTEM IS THAT ALLTHOUGH THE LOW FREQUENCIES ARE ASTOUNDING TO HEAR, THE HIGH FREQUENCY RANGE LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED.ITS ALMOST LIKE LISTENING TO SPEAKERS WITH JUST A SUBWOOFER AND A MIDRANGE UNIT.
CAN ANYTHING BE DONE ABOUT IT? THANKS!

hey thanks cluepatel..i did try out the entire range of settings as suggested by you..i must admit that though the clean highs are sorely missed even now..i did learn about various other settings on the audio/video menu.
i am on the verge of coming to the conclusion, and have come to terms withe the fact that home theatres are all about booming bass and midrange and nothing else.
thanks folks, but please do offer me advice if i can somehow extract those lovely "highs" from somewhere among the electronics by means of additional super tweeters/ crossover networks that can be safely connected across 4 ohms impedances without
