The Epson printer may only use genuine ink cartridges which contain a chip so that you cannot fill the cartridge with ink or use non genuine ink cartridges.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
Your print heads may be clean, but it sounds like there is either a gouge in the heads one of the other components that touches the paper (transfer roller, imaging drum, whatever is on this model).
It appears that your printer is malfunctioning and will require service. Contact Epson and verify if your printer is still under warranty so they can replace it. Otherwise, have your printer check by the nearest service center in your area.
I see someone posted a similar question about the Epson Workforce 600 on a different repair help website in 2012. Read the solutions provided there: https://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/73053
Do you know how old the printer is - how long you have owned and used it?
It MAY just be time to purchase a replacement printer and send the Epson Workforce 600 to electronics recycling. My personal experience with Epson printers, and I have owned more than one, is that they do not seem to last much past 6 years before they do not work properly.
Try "Nozzle cleaning" and if the problem persist, try "Deep nozzle cleaning". Try them only once or else the ink will run out very quickly. If the ink cartridges are not genuine Epson, remove them and buy genuine cartridges. If needed, repeat the procedure with them. Non-original consumables very often clog the printhead.
Epson Stylus Head Cleaning Solution Plus Re: Epson printer problem
You will want to press the button that you use to change the ink cartridge (the 3rd button). Once the carriage is in the "cartridge change position" you can unplug the printer. Then you are ready to flush out the heads. Click here for cleaning instructions http://www.wesesweb.web1000.com/printhead.html
Repairs: All Epson Stylus printers (except for the C64-C86, CX4600-CX6400 series) which don't print, or print choppy in black or color. For the other printers, as well as Canon BJCs, use the other repair kit.

Epson has a Trouble Shooting Guide. Make sure that the 500 model number is showing on the top left. Select installing cartridges. Select Holder won't go to position. Then follow the rest of the instructions.
Here is the USER'S GUIDE, with instruction for changing the cartridges.
