I have a single handle moen for my bathroom sink. I have a slow leak coming from the spout. Is this as simple as replacing the o-ring in the spout?
Thanks.

Ooops, didn't mean for that to be a request, sorry...It was a solution. Although, if you dont want to deal with Moen, you can get one at your local plumbing suplly store. I recommend taking the old one with you (make sure you shut the water off first!). Again, good luck

there might be a allan screw holding it down usually located at the back of the faucet if not there is a chance that there is a screw on escutcheon just above the base of the spout this should screw off with a strap wrench.
You can just replace the o-rings. You have to remove the large nut at the base of the spout. I posted a blog post -and a video about me replacing mine.
tighten the lock down nut under the sink , also,, unscrew the cap (at the base of the spout,, and Lube the O ring ( with either plummer grease if you have it, or if not with vasoline) this should cure your problem
Cartridge removal is a simple matter of exposing and pulling out the old cartridge. Before getting started, turn off both water valves underneath the sink and allow the water to run until the line is clear. Using a screwdriver, gently pry off the cap on the lever of the faucet handle to expose the cartridge. Remove the U-shaped retaining clip that holds the cartridge in place and pull the cartridge out. If dirt or residue makes removal difficult, use a Moen cartridge puller to assist you. A cartridge puller fits over the cartridge and gives you greater pulling power.
Soak the dirty cartridge in vinegar for four hours and replace.
If cleaning the cartridge does not work, call the Moen Helpline at 1-800-465-6636 or Customer Service at 1-800-465-6130 to order a free replacement. Locate the part number on the cover page of your instruction manual. If you no longer have the manual, look on the underside of the spout.
did you replace the spout, -o- ring's. they would cause a leak to show up there as well.no need to pull cartridge again, just handle, and then pull up spout and that is it. there should be a small packet of lube w/ -o- ring kit, lube up around shaft and new -o- ring's.available at any good hrd ware store
Replace the "O" rings that are behind the spout portion. You will have to remove the top of the faucet and pull up on the spout section. There will be a couple of "O" rings there. It is best to have Moen send the parts to you as locating the proper size "O" rings can be difficult.
if it is dripping from the spout then there is a cartridge that needs replaced...1225 for the single handle type and 1224 for the 2 handle type. Moen does not use O-rings in their valves. If it leaking around the base of the spout there is an oring kit that you will need and you will have to pull the spout off to access them. Most Moen faucets use a 117 kit for the spout but there are some different ones.
shut water off at stops under sink. Unscrew water supply lines from directly below handles. Above them you will find plastic nuts, remove them. Disconnect pop/up lever and you should be able to lift faucet from sink.
You have a bad internal o-ring or the sprayer o-ring is leaking, if you look under the sink turn it off and then turn it back on, if you see it leaking out the center shft where the water pipes go into then the faucet may have a broken pipe or loose pipe. check and tell me where it's leaking at. You can buy kits to repiar them they are inexpensive.
base leak is from bad o ring or loose spout very easy fix you can get a washer kit at lowes all you need is a allen wrench(sometimes comes in kit) a pair of channel lock pliers
