I have a wharfedale DVD/HDD recorder 2 years old with a simlar E3750 problem. Since getting the error message the tuner no longer receives sound. I've tried turning it off, factory resets etc many times, all to no avail. As it is out of warranty now I have no choice but to write it off as a waste of money.

I have a Wharfdale DVDRHD400, on inputting the type of screen in the set-up menu I by mistake made the wrong decision. After this I cannot get past the SETUP menu, it appears to see the screen, but this is blank. Has this unit an external reset button, if so where is it !!!
Would running down the internal battery solve this problem, as all information should be lost.

I've had that when trying to reset the clock with no Freeview input.

Maybe same / similar problem to which someone has posted the following

When the initial set up ran for the DVD recorder it set the correct time and, I assume, the correct date.
However, I had problems with the display and went through various settings until I solved the display problem.
Unfortunately, during the process, which included disconnecting the power, the clock was reset, starting at midnight and 1st January. There appears to be no way to access the clock.
How do I get the recorder to display the correct date/time?

This solution may work for other Wharfedale DVD recorders as well as the DVDRHD400F.
Use your Setup button to acces the 'Setup' menu.
Choose the 'Preferences' menu.
Choose 'Factory Defaults' and click on 'OK'.
The recorder will restore the factory defaults and the first screen it takes you too is the 'Initial Setup' screen where it asks you to enter the correct date and time.

May work on similar dvd recorders. Would help if Wharfedale included this in their users manual.

Hope this of use

My Wharfedale CD player just seemed to stop working one day,

Your friends are probably right however the correct term is the laser alignment is off or it just conked out. If you aren't afraid, open the case to see if there is any debris in the cd drive. Go to an office supply store and pick up a can of computer duster.

I have a wharfedale DVDRHD400F It stopped working suddenly I cant sitch on there is only a small blue flasjing LED on the front what might be the problem and can it be fixed. It happened before and I left...

This is a common fault with these units there is a problem in the power supply ( leaky capacitors ) the manufactures used the wrong type 85c not 105c thus the break down.
Do not attempt to repair this there are very high voltages and can kill ask a qualified person with the correct equipment to carry out this work for you

DVDRHD400F tuner has no sound.

Yep -same problem, but I bought mine for £18 at an auction, thought I'd done so well, but no warantee!!
-Doh. Sound perfect from DVD, so not a scart issue. Tried factory reset / retune, no joy. Freeview silent. Warfdale, you used to be the best in the world; what's gone wrong? :(

Wharfedale DVDRHD400 Set up Issue

Hi I had the same problem. The answer is to use a scart lead on the freeview box and connect it to the input/output scart on the DVD. Then connect a scart lead from the TV out on the DVD to the TV. You then press Video source on the DVD remote until 'scart' is displayed to pick the freeview channels. Hope that helps
