My freezer is fine but fridge side is warm and no air blowing

My freezer is working fine so far but the fridge is all warm and I don't feel any air flow from the vent up top. I wondered if it could be a clog in defrosting or the fan?

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

I have a maytag msd2572vew side by side refrigerator. the freezer side works fine but fridge side does not get cold. the vents in the fridge feel like no air is blowing. anyone know what's wrong?

Hi,
You have a defrost problem and will need to thaw out your freezer to change the one of the bad parts and restore air flow. The other bad part is PCA (this is a control of defrost and compressor run). First bad part is a defrost thermostat link under bad and the other is the PCA which controls the defrost cycle. Unplug unit, de-ice the freezer and this will buy you time to get parts, I don't like the use of blow dryers but people use them in this case. Watch the heat, is can warp the plastic.
Good Luck

My freezer frosted over everything because the door was not shut tight and now it will not clear.

take out all the food out of the freezer, unplug the fridge and get a hair dryer and start melting out all the ice in the freezer, then blow the hot air into the vent holes on the back wall until you don't see any more water dripping down through the slots in the back wall.turn the machine back on,open the fridge door after around 5 or 10 minutes and if you feel cold air blowing into the fridge you fixed the problem,if you don't feel cold air keep hitting the inside back wall with the hair dryer and keep blowing the hot air into the holes in the back wall.all that it does is the freezer gets cold and there's a fan behind the back wall in the freezer, the fan blows the cold air into the fridge side,if the air ducts are frozen the air can't circulate into the fridge section so you have to melt the ice out so the cold air can blow from the freezer to the fridge.good luck,if you have another fridge remove the food and unplug it and leave the doors open for a day and it will melt out.good luck

Fridge is warm, was collecting water inside. Freezer is working fine. Increased temp but not responding. It is a bottom freezer model

send the model number off of the fridge,if the freezer is working fine then no air is being blown up to the fridge section, all it does is blow cold air from the freezer to the fridge section so either the door was left open and this is very common with a bottom mount freezer or the evap fan isn't blowing or on some models there's a damper inside the fridge section, the damper door opens and closes to let cold air in,when it reaches temp. the door closes, sometimes the door gets stuck in the closed position or the open position and the fridge freezes or gets warm depending on where the door is.first thing open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap. fan motor, next look at the ceiling and on the packages,do you see frozen water droplets,if so the door was left open and the air ducts are froze up from the warm air getting in from the door being open and mixing with the cold air freezes up the air ducts, also stick your hand onto the back inside wall of the freezer,if there's like snow or frost on the inside back wall of the freezer you could have a defrost problem, bad defrost thermostat, heater, timer or board depending on the model or last a bad damper, when you open the fridge door there are air ducts usually up top and in the middle you should feel cold air blowing in,this is your problem the air isn't making it into the fridge section.if the door was left open, unplug the fridge, remove the food from the freezer and with a hair dryer heat up the back inside wall of the freezer and blow the hot air into the air vent holes in the back wall to melt out the air ducts, keep heating it up until you don't see any more water dripping, you can see the water dripping through the vent holes.so let me know what you find, send the model number and we can go from there.look up near the ceiling in the fridge section on the right hand wall and you should see a tag with the model and serial numbers, send the full model number so i can see what you have in your machine.

Side by side: freezer temperature fine, fridge too warm

sounds like your auto defrost isn't working. my maytag does same thing. the cooling core in the freezer is probably iced up. when it becomes solid ice no air(or very little) can pass by, leading to too little cold air reaching the fridge. you can try to cycle the temp levers(usually doesn't work) you can manually defrost the freezer. pull the cover off the back(inside freezer) and use a blow dryer. not sure how much parts are for whirlpool. hopefully this is just a one time thing. there are tests you can find to check some of the parts.like the heat element for the defroster, just search for the tests.

Freezer works fridg dosent stay cold

When plugging it back in, check to see if you can feel air circulation (from vents in the top-rear) on the refrigeration side.
Check again after the fridge starts to warm.
There is a fan which is supposed to distribute the cooled air from the freezer to the fridge; this may be failing after the fan has warmed from operation. The bearings in these is primitive and can get sticky impeding the fan's rotation. Replacement of that fan is not covered by the (longer) compressor warranty.

Refrigerator part not cooling, freezer is fine Amana TXI18JW (top freezer model) I noticed in the last week or so that my refrigerator was slowly starting to warm up, so I started to turn the dial up on...

There is a vent that is connected from the freezer down to the fridge right where the fan is,make sure nothing is blocking it.

Hope this helped.Let me know by rating me or

Fridge is warm even when i adjust temp. control.freezer is good.

if your fridge has 2 set of dials one numbers and the other letters than you need to adjust the dial that has letters on it. If the fan in your freezer is not blowing, then it won't force the cold air from the freezer to the fridge. Make sure fan blows then adjust the letter knob.

Bottom of freezer/fridge only getting cold.

Thre is a fan inside the freezer which circulates the cold air around both the fridge and the freezer compartments.
You should be able to feel cold air blowing around the inside, particularly at the top of the freezer.
If the defrost thermostat fails open, the internal fan (depending on freezer) will stop and this can be the cause of the freezer being warm at the top and no ice.
You say the bottom of the freezer is blowing cold, but are you sure its blowing, as it can feel like a cold blow. Of course the fan could have failed or may be the defrost heater itself.

Maytag MSD2651HES fridge not cooling freezer works find

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.
