Plain and simple. The device is broken. I can only say the laser might be dirty.  Perhaps get a laser lens disc cleaner. and check to see if that works. If not you should send it off to an authorized specialist. Or if you are feeling brave take it apart yourself.

Bose 2020 radio isn't connecting to 2016 multi cd changer. CD light come on but radio doesn't recognize disc 2, 3, or 4.

If your Bose 2020 radio is not connecting to your 2016 multi-CD changer and is not recognizing discs 2, 3, or 4, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the connections: Make sure that the multi-CD changer is properly connected to the Bose 2020 radio. Check the connections for any loose or disconnected cables.
2. Check the disc format: Make sure that the discs you are trying to play are in a format that is compatible with the CD changer. Some CD changers may not be able to read certain formats or may have trouble reading scratched or damaged discs.
3. Clean the discs: Try cleaning the discs to remove any dust, dirt, or fingerprints. Use a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe from the center of the disc to the outer edge.
4. Clean the CD changer: Dust and debris can build up inside the CD changer, causing it to have trouble reading discs. Try using a CD cleaning disc or a can of compressed air to remove any dust or debris that may be inside the CD changer.
5. Reset the system: Try resetting the Bose 2020 radio and the CD changer. Unplug the power cords from both devices, wait a few minutes, and then plug them back in.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a problem with the CD changer or the radio. You may need to contact Bose customer support for further assistance or take the devices to a qualified technician for repair.

The disc is unreadable but dosent say clean disc or anything

"Unable to read the disc" or "Disc could not be read" MessagesIf you are getting one of the above error messages:
  • This message can display if you eject a disc during game play. If this is when the message displayed, make sure that you return to the Wii Menu before changing discs if you wish to play a different game.
  • If your Wii console is laying flat, it may be positioned upside down. Ensure that is positioned right-side up: the game disc slot should be above all three buttons and the SD Card slot.
  • Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. insertdisccorrect.gif
    • If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
    • If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards

  • Check our list of specific game issues to see if there is a known issue with that particular title.
  • If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc by following the disc cleaning procedures (click here).
If the above information did not resolve the issue or it is happening with most or all of your games, a repair is necessary. Please note: So that our technicians are able to duplicate the issue, please include at least one sample game disc that causes this message to appear when played. Click here to set up a repair.

After placing several discs in the bose wave radio

Buy a quality CD radio. Bose is not quality. It is overpriced overhyped so-so quality stuff. Repairs by Bose will cost more than a better quality replacement.

I keep getting the message E-04 which I know means the disc is dirty but I have cleaned discs and put different discs in. Sometimes it will play although mostly it goes through all the discs and comes up...

Hello lynda733,

It's possible that the laser lens itself is contaminated and needs cleaning. I'd recommend getting a CD cleaning disc and load and eject it a few times. A cleaning disc looks like any CD but with a tiny brush on it that directly contacts the lens to remove contaminants. It a cleaning disc does not work, you probably need to take your vehicle to a professional car audio shop and have them service the unit.

Hope this helps.

MRV700VR

EXT1 is not an error - that message means that the dvd player is on input "EXT1" - so it is trying to display whatever is connected to EXT1 in the back of your DVD player, whether it is a cable/sat box, another vhs player, etc. The message may be getting displayed for a number of reasons - but, if you put in an incompatilbe/unfinalized disc type, and it is not able to play that disc, it may default to EXT1 b/c it is searching for some type of usable signal.

The MRV700VR is only compatible with certain discs types - and the disc types that you are trying to insert must also be finalized discs. I would reccomend only using the compatible disc types listed in your user's manual - some of them are getting harder-to-find. 16x discs are very iffy with this machine. 8x discs are best.

I have the full user's manual, so I can give you any more details that you request.

Disc Feeding Problem

I am assuming you are using a PF-2 printer. If you are using a standard HP78 ink cartridge instead of the Microboards cartridge, the unit will only print approx 5 discs before it stops. The microboards cartridges have a security tag under the barcode label that is scanned by a magnetic reader on the left hand part of the unit. If you are careful, you can use a razor blade and remove the label from a microboards cartridge and tape it on the front of a HP ink and save yourself about $25 an ink cartridge...
