PC Tools stops at DEEP SCAN When I'm trying to scan My computer system.

I open my PC Tools scan program and it will scan my system until it goes
into DEEP SCAN. PC TOOLS shows that I have 155 errors, but stops at
108 errors in the DEEP SCAN and will not go any further. The program totally stops. I am unable to repair any errors because the key on the left side of the program are not lit up.

This is PC Tools Spyware Doctor program? Try booting the computer in Safe Mode (press F8 during the boot process before you see the Windows logo and select Safe Mode from this list of options) and then running the scan. With heavier infections many cleaning tools can be blocked or have inconsistent performance.

Can't update my bios on hp pavillion a1010n??

Have you downloaded the right BIOS for your computer and do you really need to update this?

According to the HP support web site above the only version is 3.09 dated 21 June 2006 - if you already have this version, this may be why you cannot update it.

If your problem is that your computer is very slow, then updating the BIOS will not make any difference - you should concentrate on cleaning up and optimising the Windows file system.

Download and install the following utility programs that can help you to improve the performance of your computer.

Advanced System Care Free - run the Deep Care option of this utility.
DiskMax - run a Detailed Scan and let it clean up all profiles, updates, cache etc.
Smart Defrag - run a Defrag and Fast Optimize
CCleaner - use this to compliment the above plus use the Tools Uninstall option to remove any unwanted software programs, browser tool bars etc. Also use the Tools Startup option to disable any of the programs being started on every boot that don't need to be, i.e. things like QuickTime, Adobe Reader etc.

When I boot up my lptop, it is taking forever to load. Also when I log on to Internet explorer, it often times takes several minutes to load a page. Can you help me with this? Is there a start-up...

What you have is a big-time clue that your system has been infected by a virus/Trojan horse
Rootkit/Spyware/Worm/Malware of some type.
The first step in tuning up a computer is ridding it of all Malware/Spyware Infection(s). The last
time someone asked me to tune up a computer like yours, my first Malware scan of the
system located 212 viruses.

Free Anti-virus software: www.download.com

Pick (a) Avast! or (b) AVG free anti-virus, and start your tune-up with a deep system scan.

Failing to log in and freezing when when the windows xp starts to load

It mayt be infected with virus , if you have any virus scanner , go to safe mode by tapping f8 key when computer starts and run a deep scan i mean full scan , if still you face the same issue , go to normal mode and restore the computer using system restore to a date where your computer was working fine ,make sure programs installed after that date wil be gone however data saved on the hard drive would be safe .
so use it wisely .
directions to go to system restore
1. click on start
2. go to programs
3. then goto accessories
4. then system tools
5. select system restore .

Further help required

Hi, the Deep Virus Scan simply means to scan your whole system for viruses (all files on your system, can take a long time),
The virus program in question must be updated daily otherwise it won't find the latest infections.

Defrag C: means goto Windows Explorer, right button click the C: drive , select the tools tab, goto defragmentation and start defragging,

Hope this helps.

I cant open any virus scan program and cant open system restore

Hi,
I strongly suggest that you remove Zone Alarm from your computer before you start to install any other virus scan program as its presence prevent other programs to work when you try to install them. For sure I know about it!!!!, make your choice about a good virus program first and stick to it...and install only one, otherwise you are just asking for problems.

To remove Zone alarm completely you have to start you computer in 'Safe Mode' and then go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel section to proceed and then reboot.

Thanks,

Slow system how do I check my system

That's a somewhat vague question but first start off with a virus scan and an adware/spyware scan. I personally like Spybot Search & Destroy. (http://security.kolla.de) Install it and run a full scan and remove anything that it comes up with. Make sure you have the Backup option checked first, just in case. This should show you any background processes or services that belong to potentially malicious programs. In the utilities for Spybot you are also given tools to stop specific programs and services from automatically starting up when you boot your computer.

After you've taken those steps, delete your temporary internet files, then close out of everything and run Disk Defragmenter (Start > Run > dfrg.msc > Defragment). Additionally make sure that you have plenty of space on your hard drive available. If you're able to defragment though, that's a given.

If, after all this, your computer is still running slow, let me know and I'll try to offer additional help.

Good luck!
