My Creative Zen keeps giving me the message ''shutting down'' but just stays on, even after the reset feature is used. Any ideas how to solve ?

Sometimes manufacturers release firmware updates to fix issues in the units. I would suggest attempting a firmware update if your firmware is not the latest version. (The Creative website lists the current firmware revisions in their support area for their players.)

If you are able to connect to the PC via the USB cable, I would try the Creative MP3 Player Recovery Tool available through their support tab as soon as the unit has at least 50% charge.

If the Zen player is completely locked and will not connect to the PC, you may have to let the battery go low and allow the unit to turn off by running out of power. Then plug the player into the PC to perform the initial slow charge and after some time (15min), the player will attempt to turn on the screen when it has enough charge. When it turns on, you should be able to tell if the PC connects to the Zen as well. If it connects, continue to allow the Zen to charge until you have at least 50% charge and then attempt the Creative MP3 Player Recovery Tool.

If the Zen doesn't connect to the PC, there is a deeper problem.

My Zen Mosaic will not shut down. Actually, it shuts down and immediately powers back up. I have used the reset, and after resetting, it simply powers back on again.

Use Safe mode to reboot - hold reset and play/pause, then turn it on (bit fiddly but persevere). Choose option 4 in the first instance - usually works

My Creative Zen Touch is frozen. When I hold down the "Menu" button, the screen does not change. When I connect to the computer and attempt to run Creative Mediasource Organizer, I get a message that the...

I would run the recovery console from the player itself. Make sure the Touch's power supply is plugged in (and unplugged from a PC) then to access the recovery mode of the Touch, hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a straightened paper clip into the reset hole on your player, give it about five seconds then remove the paper clip.
Next, keep on holding the Play/Pause button until the Rescue Mode screen appears. After you see the rescue mode menu, you can release the play/pause button.
I would try a "clean up" first, as this is less intrusive and will not erase data.

Start in Safe Mode: hold Reset in and hold Play/Pause in, then turn on. Choosing reboot usually solves this problem.

Zen Nano 512 MB

Recommend you take a look at this Creative MP3 PLayers FAQ site first, it has a lot of info. BTW, I have the Nano (but not Plus) and I think the reset-switch hole they refer to is next to the USB connector on mine. http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=24175
