Sony KV-34HS420 shuts off and stand-by light blinks 7 times pauses and 7 again over and over. Can this be fixed by replacing parts on the infamous D-Board (I have some solder/desoldering skills) or replacing the whole board, And what parts. I get 7 blinks most of the time sometimes 6 blinks. Thanks

I have the indentical tv and problem. Cost to repair was about 250.

If you count the number of error blinks when it shuts this will let you know the error code you are having. If the red led blinks say 6 to 7 times after shutdown then pauses and does it all over again there is a problem with the deflection board or D Boardas sony calls it, It is usually related to the two Power supply regulators IC's on the D-board.

Hold hair dryer to back right side on high heat for a couple of seconds while you hit the power button several times. It only took 2 times for my set to power on. Good Luck!

if you have the circuit diagram of your tv,check the horizontal polarisation IC closer to the line transformer and replace it.If it doesn't work,send the question again.

1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
   
2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
   
5. Turn on the television.

If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

i would say this is a internal problem how long have you had it?

Sony FD Trinition Wega KV-32HS510 Try to turn tv on -it starts then shuts off -stand by lights keeps flashing. Memory stick light flashes then goes off.

blinking is the self diagnosis working.

Please count light flashing again. Light flash time is "0.3 Sec" and there would be pause (light Off time) for "3 Sec". Start counting after pause to next pause.

Hello there,
7 times blinks shows that Horizontal Deflection Circuit doesn't work properly.
I think, its not big fault and can be resolve in low cost at nearest Sony repair shop.
