I have a Mitsubishi HSU48. The tape is stuck in the VCR. I cannot get it out. Do you have any suggestions

I had this problem with this specific machine. These answers have all been general to any VCR. The Mitsubishi HS-U448 has its motor underneath the machine. You don't have to remove the top cover at all. Just remove the bottom plate and spin the motor (the correct direction) to completely eject the tape.

Error E3 on Mitsubishi HS-U795

Try this :
If your VCR malfunctions, try the following steps prior to contacting your Mitsubishi Dealer:
1 Check the Trouble Checks below to see if there is a solution to the current problem that you are
experiencing.
2 If the problem is not addressed on the Trouble Checks, the safety circuits in the VCR may be in
operation, thus please try the following: (the clock setting and the timer recording will be deleted.)
1 If possible, press EJECT on the front panel and remove the tape.
2 Press TIMER RESET on the rear panel with a pencil or a ball point pen.
3 If a tape is not loaded, press POWER to turn the power on. If a tape is loaded, wait about 1 minute
until the tape protecting function is completed, then press POWER.
3 You may also try the following procedure if the above steps did not resolve the problem (All settings will
be reset to the default settings.).
1 Press POWER on the front panel continuously for about 8 seconds until the current time display on
the front panel shows "- : - -."
2 If a tape is not loaded, press POWER to turn the power on. If a tape is loaded, the tape protecting
function will work and "99" will appear on the front panel display to begin count down. Wait about 1
minute until it reaches "00" to show the tape protecting function is completed, then press POWER.
If the problem with your VCR persists, contact your Mitsubishi dealer for assistance.

Im looking for error codes.

Mitsubishi HS-U61 SVHS

When a tape won't eject, the problem can be caused by several things. The most common problem is that the belt that operates the eject mechanism is slipping and not allowing it to eject the tape. This can be fixed by either using a re-grip solution on the belt or have the belt replaced. Belts are inexpensive but sometimes difficult to get to. Most of the repair expense will be in the labor. Unplug the unit and take the cover off. Hopefully there will be enough clearance so you can get to the tape. Try to find the motor and belt that is responsible for operating the eject mechanism. The motor will look like a shiny cylinder, about the diameter of a quarter and will have a plastic pulley attched to the shaft. You can rotate the pulley and belt with your fingers and manually eject the tape. If the tape is around the spindles and video head, you will need to manually move the mechansim that retracts the spindles and returns the tape to the cartridge. While you may be successful in getting the tape out, you need to find out what caused the problem in the first place. Putting in another tape will most like become stuck again unless the problem is identified and resolved. Also look for a broken spring or cracked gear (missing teeth) in the eject mechanism. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance Good luck! - Jim

Vcr hs-u500

Typical belt drive failure. Take the cover off and turn the loading motor shaft with your fingers until the tape is ejected. Get a belt kit for this model and replace all the rubber parts in your VCR. Mitsubishi's are nice units and worth fixing. Check the little pulley under the capstan motor for cracks or worse.

Error message E4 and stuck tape

Yes with care. Simply remove the cover and with care unwrap the tape. If you must break the tape - but make sure all residual tape is cleanly removed. Re assemble and put a tape head cleaner through- following the instructions.

Tape ejects just after insertion

the end-of-tape optical sensor is at fault. either it is very dirty, has failed or something else is detecting end of tape. many VCR's now will auto-eject the tape upon end of tape detect
