Panel or backlight problem

The data buffer IC inside of the display panel is bad. It needs a new panel.

hi there.your set needs four new capacitors fitting on the power supply.they are grouped together,if you take the back off,you will see they have domed out on the top,and may be leaking brown fluid.if you are reasonably handy with a soldering iron,replacement is dead easy.caps are only a few pence each,take note of the polarity when changing.this is a VERY common problem.

bad capacitors on power supply

Remove The rear cover and inspect the power supply(board in center).There should be several swollen capacitors on the upper right corner ofthe board. replace these and you are done.

You need to change the 1000uf caps in the power supply. only if you are handy with a soldering iron. Take back of remove psu. You will see them bulging at the top. Think there is 5 to change :)

You seem to have tuner problem. has been a problem with the older model Samsung.

what model of Sony is it? On many of the Sony projectors, a 3 flash error code indicates the lamp is not properly seated/installed or the lamp door is not closed properly
