I would stick with the Optima brand as that is the projector you have.

Have you tried another laptop? You might also try hdmi if you can. Many times this is the mother board of the laptop. In windows 7 use the windows and P button?

whats the reason for no display on hdmi to hdmi connection- to the x box display is fine-?

There is a source lock and source button I would unlock source lock button and the push source button until you get to your hdmi input you are using. You also may just plug in one input first and once you get the input right play with the multiple hdmis

Did the hdmi work before or is this the first time you have tried it.

You can't be able to connect a tv to your projector, because it doesn't have a monitor out.
There is only one way. If the source is a DVD player then connect the its HDMI output to the projector and the component video out to the tv. You can't be able to get video out from the composite video output of your DVD player, when you are using HDMI. When plug the HDMI it will switch off the composite video out. The component video out remain ON whether you connect HDMI or not.

Hi miracles4all: I solved HDMI signal issue in my Optoma HD20. In my case it was the lack of contact between the HDMI cable plug male ending and the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. My 35ft cable plug male HDMI ending was not completely "seating" in the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. I solved the problem by purchasing a HDMI female to female coupler and adding a 3ft HDMI cable that had a slim male ending. This 3ft HDMI extension cable made better contact to the Optoma HDMI port and the projector was immediately able to detect HDMI signal. Hope this helps you... kaufmanekpr

make sure the resolution matches the source.

replace the cord or try it with a new one. if that's ok, reset the settings to factory default and make sure the settings are for hdmi

try going direct connection dvd to projector .is your dvd upconverting to 1080p or just 1080i?let me know.
