One song that I want to play on my mp3 player keep coming up "Format Error". Why is ... You can't, unless you find out WHAT format it is, and install a player that is compatible with THAT format. Apparently, you are trying to play a file that IS NOT MP3. m. 0 ... #2 doesn't really happen often, but it can happen.
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visable. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will hightlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Good Luck, I hope this helps
Take note that if you have reformatted your drive all file inside were lost. Basically mp3 players can play only mp3 format. If the format of your songs inputted to your mp3 player are not the same with the format required to your player nothing should be happen to play.
If the required of your player is mp3 so you need to put only mp3 format. No other format should be played. If your download songs are wma format convert it to mp3 format.
I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.
If you are using windows xp open my computer The mp3 player should be there as a removable drive You can drag and drop mp3 files into Or you can use windows media player to sync the songs you want on it
Green and ORANGE? orange indicates the iPod is searching for music.
UNDERSTAND this- when you play music in the iTunes app., you are hearing the music in your computer not the iPod.
1) Install the latest iTunes application.
2) Do a restore
3) sync your iPod
Pebbles65 I am not sure what happened to your player. You could have a small sd card in it which it is reading and nothing eles. If not that I would say download your music to windows medis played, reformat your played by going to my computer and clicking on the right of the mouse and clicking format. after redownload the music from windows medis played in the Sync .
I also had this problem and thought my music players were broken. The media players displayed the songs as 00:00:00 even when the file info read that it took up space and had a song length. The music player displayed that m506 error message.
I looked through forms for an answer, and I noticed I didn't try messing with one thing: THE BATTERY.
Try taking the battery out of your phone and putting it back in. It worked for me! My music players work again!
