I am downloading few files via torrent. Some files have been downloaded and most of the other files are half downloaded (eg. 250 MB downloaded out of 400 MB). Now, I really need to format my HDD, and re-install windows. :-(
Is there any way that to save all the half downloaded files, so when HDD is formatted and windows is re-installed, I won't need to download them again ? Any help would be appreciated.
@Ross, I wonder what is the need to "copy" the torrent client ? I might "install" it. And do I have to copy only the main application (.exe) file or some other files as well?@Ross, I wonder what is the need to "copy" the torrent client ? I might "install" it. @Ross, Earthlinkz, I made some mistake. I have formatted my HDD and I copied only the main exe file of utorrent. It didn't work. Should had copied the whole folder. :(. Anyways... The files that were fully downloaded are fine but the ones which were half downloaded are no more. But thanks for your advice. Find out where the torrent files are downloading to, then copy them onto usb etc. and u might want to goto program files andcopy youre torrent client, then after reinstallation just copy them to their right places
Testimonial: "Thanks, Ross! I hope it works. And, Welcome to FixYa.com!"
you may need to copy the entire folder eg goto C:\Program Files then (assuming your client is bittorrent) copy the entire bittorrent folder because some clients save where they are in that folder and if you dont it may over-write the files and take as long as normal

Additional to ross solution: if you are using Utorrent you can copy the files where you put or saved the downloaded files then in your start menu>run>%appdata% then copy the utorrent folder be sure to remember where you copy those files so you can remember where to paste it after formatting.. then from there by pasting those files your old settings will be restored..
another is you can just copy the folder where your half downloaded files are located and after formatting just paste it anywhere and download the torrent file again and target it to where you pasted your half downloaded files then torrent will do hash check and your download will be restored back to where it stopped. be sure it was same files as before :) if you cant remember then do the first one :)

you can go to http://torrentz.eu/ and write the movie name on the search then choose one of the suggestion then choose the site that you want to download it from then click on torrent download but you need have utorrent or bit torrent program on your computer
first of all it is a method of downloading absolutely
anything (you name it you have it) from internet when you search for software, audio,
movies you will sometimes accidental stumble up into a torrent site but when
you download the file it will be a very small fie size in kilobytes but this
fill contains all the file locations that a particular file resides it cold contain
1000 of users information worldwide.
How does it happen?
a person might upload a file as a torrent and that person is
called a "seed" because he has 100% of the file will say another
person finds this torrent and start downloading it this person is considered as
a "leecher"assume he has
downloaded the file about 25%, When another 3rd person starts downloading this
file he can retrieve this file from both the seeder and leecher and the 3rd
person will also contribute to other people so by downloading a torrent you are
taking the file and *** well as you are helping to upload it to another person
When a leecher has downloaded the file 100% that person
becomes a seeder
How to download
You need a torrent client to download torrent files (torrent
extension is *.torrent)
Example
Utorrent-a small light weight torrent client
Azureus-a java based torrent client
What Should I look
for when downloading torrents?
1.Find
a good site (the hardest )
Because torrents are a popular way of spreading viruses (Trojan
horse) you must be careful when you are selecting the site
My recommendations’ are
For software/movies/games/TV shows-btjunkie.com,
www.mininova.com,www.isohunt.com
For high quality movies-axxo.superfundo.com
2.Download the torrent with highest number of seed
not the leecher
when you do this you are on the safe side because more people have the complete
file
3.Be careful when downloading torrents that contains zip or rar format
some torrents are there to fool you after downloading it requires a password witch
you can’t find
4.Read all comments before downloading a torrent
this will be very help full for you before you download a big file example in a
movie torrent comment some people will comment about the quality of the movie
sound quality or is it a camera copy saving you valuable time
First you need :µTorrent - a (very) tiny BitTorrent clientDownload and install it.There are many other Torrent clients but i find this the best one.
Then you need a torrent site here you go:http://thepiratebay.org/top Now search for what you Movies,Games,Music etc.Download the Torrent file and open with Utorrent your download should have now started in Utorrent.
How do I download files using BitTorrent?Just like you need a URL like 'www.google.com' to go to a web site and download content, you need a 'torrent file', a small file that tells the BitTorrent client the necessary info to download the content you want. This is generally obtained from a torrent website. Many websites offer torrents as one method of downloading files. For example,OpenOffice.org, a free alternative to Microsoft Office, can be downloaded using BitTorrent. Other sites, like legaltorrents.com, offer torrents of all kinds of things - these sites are just repositories of torrents and usually don't actually create any of the content available. They are known as torrent indexers. Once you've obtained a torrent file, you simply need to import it into µTorrent. There are several ways of doing this.
Drag and drop the torrent file you downloaded onto µTorrent's window.
Choose to open the torrent file instead of saving it to your computer. If you have associated µTorrent with .torrent files, this will work. µTorrent asks on first run if you want to do this, but if you said no, you can go to Options, Preferences and click button labeled Associate with .torrent files to reassociate it.
But before you start downloading, make sure you've followed the µTorrent Setup Guide. It doesn't take long and will help ensure that your torrent experience is faster and more consistent.
May factors may affect your download speed. It may be caused by your internet connection being slow or the torrent file you downloaded has only few seeder. Try to download files which are seeded by many.
Hi,
1)Download and install the bit torrent software from www.bittorrent.com
2)Go to the below link
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3819201
3)click"Download this torrent" and download the torrent file.
4)open the downloaded torrent file and ms office 2003 will be downloaded.
5)If the download is slow or didn start open bit torrent dialogue box from quick launch .. then right click the downloading dile and give force start
6)good luck.
(bit torrent software is needed because it has the capability to pause in middle of download incase of net problem and it will start automatically )
If you want to download softwares from the internet you can use torrent sites( like www.torrentz.com, www.piratebay.org, www.1337x.org, www.btjunkie.org etc)
To download a file from a torrent site you need to know the name of the file and you need to have a good torrent client. You can download a torrent client from the internet few good clients are utorrent, bitorrent, bitcomet, vule etc. all these clients are free of cost and you can download them by just searching them in google. After you download and install a client(iwould recommend utorrent) you can go to a torrent site. eg: www.torrentz.com search the file you want to download. It will list a number of search results. Choose the result which got good seeders. Download the torrent file. Open the torrent file with the previously installed torrent client. And continue downloading your game. Enjoy the software. If you like the downloaded software dont forget to buy the software.

you'll need a torrent program, utorrent or bit torrent are 2 common ones. Then go to a torrent site, something like piratebay .org and search for what you want. once you download the files, you'll need some codecs probabs, just google search for the codec for what ever file type you downloaded, and use your DVD burning software to put it on a disk.
