How to Save Half-Downloaded Torrent files?

I am downloading few files via torrent. Some files have been downloaded and most of the other files are half downloaded (eg. 250 MB downloaded out of 400 MB). Now, I really need to format my HDD, and re-install windows. :-(

Is there any way that to save all the half downloaded files, so when HDD is formatted and windows is re-installed, I won't need to download them again ? Any help would be appreciated.

@Ross, I wonder what is the need to "copy" the torrent client ? I might "install" it. And do I have to copy only the main application (.exe) file or some other files as well?

@Ross, Earthlinkz, I made some mistake. I have formatted my HDD and I copied only the main exe file of utorrent. It didn't work. Should had copied the whole folder. :(. Anyways... The files that were fully downloaded are fine but the ones which were half downloaded are no more. But thanks for your advice. At least I now know what to do next time I format my HDD.

you may need to copy the entire folder eg goto C:\Program Files then (assuming your client is bittorrent) copy the entire bittorrent folder because some clients save where they are in that folder and if you dont it may over-write the files and take as long as normal

Additional to ross solution:
if you are using Utorrent you can copy the files where you put or saved the downloaded files then in your start menu>run>%appdata% then copy the utorrent folder be sure to remember where you copy those files so you can remember where to paste it after formatting.. then from there by pasting those files your old settings will be restored..

another is you can just copy the folder where your half downloaded files are located and after formatting just paste it anywhere and download the torrent file again and target it to where you pasted your half downloaded files then torrent will do hash check and your download will be restored back to where it stopped. be sure it was same files as before :) if you cant remember then do the first one :)

How to Vuze

Vuze is a torrent downloading software. You can use Vuze to download any kind of a file off the internet via bit-torrent. All you have to do is, install Vuze and go to http://thepiratebay.se/ and search for the file you want. You will get a list if available files and you should sort that list by clicking on the "SE" because you want to download the torrent file that has the highest number of seeders. Afterwards, you can click on the file you desire and click on "Get this torrent". It will open up Vuze and start downloading the file.

You can download this for free by using torrent files.
Below is an instruction/guide on how to download it for free using torrents.
1. You have to go to www.bittorrent.com
2. Download and install the torrent program from that website.
3. Make sure your antivirus does not prevent the program from connecting to the internet.
4. After the installation, you can go to the link below and click the download .torrent button when the page opens. The file is less than 1 MB.
http://www.kickasstorrents.com/the-sims-2-expansionpacks-complete-with-crack-mac-t1185480.html
5. After you download the file, you have to open the file using the bittorrent program you downloaded first.
6. It might take a couple of days or less depending of the speed of your internet. All you have to do is to be patient and monitor the torrent program from time to time to monitor the progress of your download.
Also, you can turn your computer on and off whenever you want and the download would continue from where it last stopped.

How to download ms office 2007 from ur site

If you want to download softwares from the internet you can use torrent sites( like www.torrentz.com, www.piratebay.org, www.1337x.org, www.btjunkie.org etc)

To download a file from a torrent site you need to know the name of the file and you need to have a good torrent client.
You can download a torrent client from the internet few good clients are utorrent, bitorrent, bitcomet, vule etc. all these clients are free of cost and you can download them by just searching them in google.
After you download and install a client(iwould recommend utorrent) you can go to a torrent site.
eg: www.torrentz.com
search the file you want to download. It will list a number of search results. Choose the result which got good seeders. Download the torrent file. Open the torrent file with the previously installed torrent client. And continue downloading your game. Enjoy the software. If you like the downloaded software dont forget to buy the software.

Tengdayoan@yahoo.com What is the fast and efficient movie downloader

To download any files eg. Basically it will depend on your ISP lines whether it is cable or wireless connections. The speed and efficiency of any "Downloader software" depends directly on the bandwith of your ISP connections.

There are many formats how the files are downloaded from the web like torrents, http, FTP, etc....

A downloader is just a piece of software to assist you to simplified your downloads. You have not specified what type of download protocol you would like to use for downloading movies.

If the files are very big ie > 4.5GB, preferably the torrents is a good option. Any torrent clients like Bit-torrent, utorrent, etc..... are good choices.

Hope it helps.

Torrents Cause Timeouts on Motorola wr850gp

You need to set a BANDWIDTH limit on your torrents. Usually about two thirds you bandwidth eg if you had a 6mb connection set it for a max of 4 mb.

Many ISP's also throttle torrents to a point where it can stall out and cause issues elsewhere in a network.

If your torrent program has any stealth capabilities try setting those.
The terminology for that varies from program to program.

Very Very LOW Download speeds....!!!

1. Internet Service Providers (whoever you have your broadband connection with) are more and more limiting your download speeds via torrent to 20 or 30k. This is by design of your ISP and there is nothing much that you can do about and the reason they do it is to prevent people from downloading copyrighted materials.

2. If you have a legitimate reason for using torrent technology to download 1GB+ files often, then contact your ISP about it and tell them you are trying to download legal files of whatever it is you are trying to download and see if they will fix it. Probably not, however. In fact, they probably won't even admit to using sandvine to limit your download speeds. I know for one Comcast is doing this very thing.
