For most cameras, this is not only not possible but, even trying it can cause problems with your camera. If your pictures are being automatically deleted after downloading, it's usually because the program you use for downloading is set to do that. If you don't like that feature, you will need to go into the settings area and change it. Or, you could just download to a folder you create on your desktop. That way, your pics are still on your memory card and you can now send the pics in the folder to any program you like.
Hello Charlie, Hook your camera directly to your PC with the USB cable, The computer should see Kodak Easyshare, Double click on it to open and check in the folder shown for your photos and down load or delete them as you wish. As far as the SD card error it sounds like possible camera firmware problem,go to Kodak website under support for Dx7590 for the firmware and instructions. Best Regards, Russell
My
apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem ,
but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got
answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly
in future.
Please download Disc Digger HERE.
This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no
installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.
Once
you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the
camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.
On
the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files
or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do
the recovery on and run the program.
The data will be displayed
and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has
not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location
on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will
overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.
Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.
You can delete the pictures from the camera by clicking the Delete button in the Pix Micro Downloader after you have transferred them to your computer. Or you can press the delete button on the camera and hold it for 5 seconds or just remove the battery.
Try another card. The card can have a life limit, after all it is flash memory. Also try to use the card in a card reader, not the camera. If that works, and you can save your pics... (remember never try to delete or change any of the pics. on the card from the computer, a lot better chance of corrupting the files...that may be due to the fact that the camera and the computer can be seeing different ways of making folders and reading them...just mention that because I had it happen... always format and delete all pics in only the camera you use that card in.) If you are successful to transfer your pictures, then format the card in the camera, and see if it will work. The final on this is that if the card will not format, and will not save pictures, then it is finished. You can try to use it in another kind of camera, sometimes that may work as well.
I had the same problem with my digital cam/corder! An alternative solution to deleting pictures off the camera is, trickily enough, through your computer! This may be a bit of a hassle as you have preloaded your pics. What you will need to do is redownload your pics. You should be asked the option of deleting your pictures after download, and you click on the box.
There are few method to copy the pic from camera to pc.
1) disable yr anti virus b4 connect the camera to pc.
2) re-install the camera driver on pc again
3) use card reader to transfer the pic to pc.
Hope it help
