My ps3 plays all region codes dvd but i recently bought a dvd from usa and it wont play it tells me i need a new region code but my ps3 has usa region codes settings please help!!!!

You need to go in the menu and change the region code. yours is not set for amarican made dvd's

hi there,
the ps3 will only play dvd's from your region(e.g. region 1 usa, 2 europe etc..) So depending on where you got your dvd, if it's not the region as your ps3, the ps3 will not play the dvd. however the ps3 will play blu-rays and games from anywhere in the world as it plays region-free blu-ray discs. I know it's a pain in the neck, but you will have to find a region free dvd player to play that dvd. Hope this helps.

IF YOU LIVE IN THE USA OR CANADA THEN YOUR IN REGION 1 AND IT WILL PLAY WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING BUT IF YOU LIVE IN ANOTHER REGION OR YOUR DVD PLAYER IS FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR SOME REASON THEN IT WONT PLAY.ALL DVDs MADE IN THE USA OR CANADA ARE REGION 1.

Trying to play dvd This disc cannot be played. The region code is not correct.

The dvd you are trying to play is most likely not for the region in which your PS3 plays them. If your PS3 is a USA Region player then you can only plays disks that are from USA Region.

Australia Comes in Region B and USA comes in Region A .

There is NO solution at present to run a different region Movie on a different region PS3

Games are Regional Free so it will play in any regional consoles

Yes you can.. Blu-ray discs are not region coded.. However if you trying to play a DVD or any other format disc then it would not be possible since these are region coded.. However the PS3 games are region free.. can be bought from anywhere and played anywhere..

The ps3 does have region coding regards to playing DVDs and there are no hacks for the same..

The PS3 is region free for games but not Blu-rays and DVDs. It's probably because the DVD has a different region code than your PS3 and there's basically no way to get around it. You may try making a region free copy of your DVD using programs like Leawo Blu-ray Copy or rip the DVD to MP4 and play it with the video player on your PS3.
