SOURCE: Dyson DC07, too much suction...?

have you checked that the roller is turning when the vacum is not in the upright position as ther are 2 belts 1 from the motor to the clutch and 1 from the clutch to the roller if the clutch belt breaks you will find it hard to push because the roller is stopprd.... lie the machine down on its side with the vacume in the open position not upright and check if the roller turns it should only stop when in the upright position. PLEASE MIND YOUR FINGERS.

SOURCE: Dyson Dc07

I had the same issue and solved it easily. My experience is the same as the March 6th response/ When you push your foot onto the base and then recline the handle, use your toe to gently push the very front of the base down closer to the carpet. This creates a much stronger seal and suction and picks up every bit of dirt easily. If i do not do this extra step the suction is much much less. I tried an experiment with sand that I poured onto my carpet. Initially, I went over the sand 4 times and the dyson 07 would only pick up 50 percent of the sand. I then poured more sand onto the carpet, and this time pushed the front lip down so it was contacting the carpet. This time only two passes were needed to completely **** up all the sand. Not sure why this is not in the manual but it really works. Good Luck!

SOURCE: rotating brush will not turn on my Dyson DC07

Yes I had the same problem on my animal Dysom. There is a button on the top of the dysom that turns the cacuum on. Right beside that button is another one that turns on and off the brush!!! Good luck!!! I accidently one day bumped that button and couldn't get my brush to work but after troubleshooting it, that was my solution.

Just bought a DC33. Multi-floor.It is very hard to push on the carpeting. It is fine on the wood floors. Is there any way to adjust it higher for the carpeting. It is dense carpet not high

There are no floor settings for this unit. Since the brush is spinning, it will create more resistance when running over the carpet.

Make brushes turn - band is intact but not turning the brushes

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

Are you able to confirm whether your DC07 includes the brush control feature or not? The brush control would be a round dial on the cleaner head which allows you to turn off the brush bar when cleaning hard floors or delicate rugs.
make-brushes-turn-band-intact-but-not-lwqyc41qlbnwv0kthpkl2aqr-3-0.jpg

If your DC07 does include brush control, make sure that when the vacuum cleaner is turned on and reclined, the brush control is set to 'Carpets'. The brush bar will never rotate when the brush control is set to 'Hard floors', or when the machine is standing in the upright position.

If you're confident your machine is already set correctly but the brush bar is still not rotating, or if your DC07 is a version which doesn't include the brush control feature, we'd appreciate the opportunity to provide further assistance.

I'd encourage you to give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call when you have your DC07 easily to hand so we can take you though some simple troubleshooting checks. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How to change belt in dyson upright model dc07

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

There are two versions of DC07 - some include a brush bar which rotates all the time when the vacuum is running. And some include a brush control clutch mechanism which allows you to turn off the brush bar for hard floor cleaning. If your machine has the brush control, you'll see the dial on the front of the cleaner head.

If you have a DC07 without the brush control feature, you can replace the belt as shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-standard/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/change-the-belt1/belt-fitting-preparation

However, if you have a DC07 with the brush control feature, the clutch mechanism uses belts engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. These are not designed to be replaced by the user, and we would advise against attempting to change these as damage may be caused to your machine.

For further advice on having your machine repaired, or to order replacement belts for a DC07 without brush control, please contact our experts directly. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Where is the brush belt on a dyson 07 upright vacuum?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The type of belt mechanism will depend on which model of DC07 you own. If you have a DC07 machine without the brush control feature, the user-replaceable belt is located within the cleaner head:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-standard/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/change-the-belt1/belt-fitting-preparation

However, if your DC07 includes the brush control feature (you should see the Carpet/Hard floor dial on the cleaner head), your machine will use a clutch mechanism with belts engineered to last for the lifetime of the machine in normal use.

If you have a DC07 with brush control and would like some help with it, please contact us directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How do I adjust the power cam locationpower cam on a dc27

Hi Charles, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC27 is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types - there is no way of manually adjusting the height of the wheels or brush bar. The vacuum may need higher push force on certain types of deep pile carpeting. We would recommend checking directly with the carpet manufacturer for their advice on caring for this particular carpeting - manfacturers may recommend vacuuming some carpets with the brush bar turned off, and it may be worth giving this a try.

To turn off the brush bar, just use the brush control switch next to the red on/off switch:

Cleaner not picking up

Hi Barbara, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear the brush bar in your machine isn't rotating. Please make sure that the brush control on the cleaner head is set to 'Carpets' rather than 'Hard floors', as the brush bar will not rotate when the machine is set to the Hard floors position.

Please note, the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright, so make sure it's reclined into the normal vacuuming position before testing it. You might find our online Support guide useful when troubleshooting:

If you're still concerned about your machine after you've given this a try, please get in touch with us directly so our experts can provide some further advice. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

My dyson dc07 seems to be very hard to push on carpet boy ont tile?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties using your DC07 on this particular carpet. It might help to check you have your brush control adjusted to the 'Carpets' setting - you can find out how to do this in the user guide supplied with your cleaner. In case you don't have this to hand, here's an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc07_opmanual_usa.pdf

You may also want to contact your carpet manufacturer to check it's suitable for cleaning with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a revolving brush. Manufacturers sometimes recommend cleaning certain types of carpeting using suction only.

If you have any further queries about using or maintaining your Dyson vacuum cleaner, please get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to provide the information and assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Check the axles of the wheels for debris accumulation. Also, make sure the height is set for the type of carpet that you have. Try pushing the machine on a bare floor--is it hard to move there also? Hope this helps!

The brushes seem to stick and it is hard to push the dyson 07 along

it sounds like it is sucking it self to the floor. you may need to adjust the height adjustment for the head so it rides a little higher and wont stick to the carpet.
