Hard to start Husqvarna 435

Yesterday I purchased the above model from a large home and garden store.......I could not get the thing to start. Took it back got a refund. Took another 435 from the store. It started right up used it for a half hour. Today I went to use the thing it started ok then quit after 5 minutes. Fresh fuel/oil............tried restarting again no luck....Brand new 2nd saw....what is going on?

Reportedly you need to open up the low idle jet screw about 1/4 turn, takes an odd shaped tool to get at it, Husky sells this tool, or you can probably makeshift one from hard plastic tube... anyway, this is due to EPA issues, but once you increase the L adjustment 1/4 turn (counter clockwise, I believe), problem is said to go away.

Pull the rope faster!!

That's really great advice. I have a POS husky 435 and I will not buy any husky saws from now on. It will not start without an act of congress. My opinion it is a pos saw.

Replaced ignition coil on 435 husqvarna chainsaw. Starts and idles fine. When I try to rev it up it bogs down.

There were two different ignition units on the 435 so it is important to fit the correct unit or the timing will be out, from memory the part no. was on the unit itself, the only other way to tell is to remove the flywheel the part no of the flywheel will be stamped into the back, you then need to go to the parts list, find the relevant list that shows that particular flywheel and take the ignition unit no from that list

I have a Husqvarna 435.Hard to start. When it runs, it has no power. It does the same as if it runs out of gas.I loosen the gas tank plug, then it starts and I'm good for 10 minutes.I also have a Husqvarna...

Sounds like the fuel cap on the 435 is not venting properly. Change the fuel cap and do not overtighten. Should correct your issue. The 435 is a nice light weight unit.

Tricks to starting 435 husqvarna

There is no trick, push the primer button as many times as it takes to 3/4 fill the bulb ( you cannot over prime it no matter how many times you push it ) pull the red start switch out and at the same time lift up until it locks up, crank the engine twice or until it fires, do not continue to crank, push the red stop button down half way, crank engine until it starts and runs, blip the trigger to bring to idle.

Husqvarna 345e

I have a model 435 Husky that had the same hard-to-start problem--warranty service replaced the carburetor and it seems to work ok now. The chain that continues to turn can be fixed by turning the idle-speed screw (not the H or L jet screws) CCW a small amount until it can be accelerated then dropped back to idle to quit driving the chain. Hope this helps!
