Code for astar tv

I have direct tv service , i can not find the code to program the direct remote to make the tv work.

    I use the TV remote to turn it on, and the TV Carrier remote to turn channels and volume. They said the TV was too new to have an acceptable code. 2 years old. same problem I guess need an answer too.

When you are ready to put the code in, press the channel up button slowly as if you are channel surfing, when the TV turns off, that is your code # and continue with the rest of the steps.

I just checked online at DirecTV and searched your Astar TV. This is the result I got...

"There is no setup code indicated for your product.

You may still find a setup code that works for your device by stepping through the library codes in your remote. The following instructions will help you do this.

StepNSet

  • Set the "Mode Switch" to the desired mode such as TV for a Television.
  • Press and hold the "Mute" button and the "Select" button until the visible LED blinks twice.
  • Enter the code "991" followed by the "device number"
    1. for Televisions
    2. for "AUX 1" devices - VCRs or DVDs
    3. for "AUX 2" devices - Audio
  • You can step through the setup codes for this mode by pressing the "Channel Up" key to go forward through the codes or pressing the "Channel Down" key to go back to the previous codes.
  • You can try out each code by pressing one or more function keys such as power, volume or digit keys.
  • When you've found the setup code that works for your device, press the "Select" key. "

Our direct tv remote won't work with this tv.. Apex & Direct have given us 7 codes, none work.
For the Apex 4088, choose Astar brand. Enter code: 11531.
If this doesn't work, 11548 or 11738

Unerversal Remote Codes
Astar got sued by Philips and went out of business. Astar owned themselves rather then having a reproduction redesign of another set. They were a cheap Chinese company that made stuff for Compusa. I've repaired a couple of their sets and they're easy to work on but a little under built. So chances of matching the remote code up to another tv code will be left to guess and check. On some remotes you can enter a setup where you can press the power button over and over until you find the right one, then press another button such as enter or select to lock it in. See if your manual says anything about code search.
