Why, tell why first. context matters, for sure.
but you can remove the coin cell on any PC made (some tiny notepads excepted, have none see why below)

that resets all PCs made, and will not erase passwords.
PW are not STORED THERE, NVRAM CMOS.
ever heard of asus.com?
there huge web site, support??
the real name is
ASUS VivoBook X540LA
asus has no service manual; only user man. and has no such topic in the users manual
as a rule (thin notebooks)
if the huge battery on that just snaps off the bottom in 5 seconds
yours don't.
it's no longer there, that means it is now deep inside and thin.
and that means most PCs like that , have no coin cell.
that means you must unplug the inside flat black battery
push power for 10 seconds (button) release then wait say 1/2 hour the put the battery back in.
now the NVRAM CMOS is reset.

does that answers your question?
here is your big battery, remove this , per above.
and if BIOS NVRAM CMOS resets then good.
if NOT there is a coin cell hidden deep in side, fact is.

Reset pasword bios asus z53jc

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7229632-reset_or_remove_bios_password
In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD (Kill CMOS will do the job) as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Bios password reset in asus motherbord

to reset the bios password the cmos must be re-set, start by removing power lead, then remove pc cover, to earth the tower touch bare metal on case to discharge static elec, or you could buy a static stap, then remove the cmos battery, looks about the size of a ten cent piece, then get small screw driver and touch the neg and pos together for at least 4 seconds( I got about 7 to be sure, then replace battery and reconnect power and reboot, you should be greeted with a message saying configuration is incorrect, hit delete key (usually) to enter the cmos setup, there you will have to reset the date and time, then the boot order you wish to start with, set all this and save and exit, all should be good, the password is wiped when you reset the cmos

Need to reset Asus k7v bios

Yes, if you consult your motherboard manual this will show you the location of the cmos battery and reset jumpers. You can either move the jumpers from pins 1+2 to 2+3 and then back again after a few seconds or remove the cmos battery for a few seconds. Make sure your pc is off!
