How can I connect acer aspire one pc to TV using VGA/HDMI cable?

I have an acer aspire one laptop and have bought an hdmi/VGA cable to connect it to my TV. however, they are not finding eachother & I can't see my laptop on my tv screen. please advise as to how to progress

    Still problem buddy? if that is a laptop try this...Fn +F8, this will change monitor from LCD to TV.press and hold Fn and pres F8, every time you press F8 while holding Fn,the display will change from TV to LCD and vise versa.That helps?

Connect aspire v5-552p to tv
It depends on the ports the computer and the TV have
If both have VGA (blue) use a VGA to VGA cable.
You can also use an S-Video-to-S-Video cable
If both have DVI, use a DVI-toDVI cable.
If both have HDMI use an HDMI-to-HDMI cable.

Other possibilities are combinations of the various modes above VGA-to-DVI, VGA-to-HDMI, VGA-to-S-Video, etc.

How to connect acer aspire 5315 to LG led tv
Acer Aspire 5315 doesn't come with an HDMI port. So, you have the following options:
1. Use a VGA Cable to connect the PC to TV if the TV has PC-Input facility
2. Use an S-Video cable to the TV's S-Video-in port if the TV has it

3. Use and S-Video to HDMI converter if the TV has HDMI port

for audio, you can use 3.5mm to RCA (Red/White) connector to connect to TV's audio-in port.

VGA uses analogue signals and HDMI uses digital. you'll need a converter box to make it work. Have a look on you tube.

How do I connect my Laptop Acer 5735 to my TV Sony KDL-40NX700, what kind of connection cables do I require?
If Your TV and Laptop have HDMI Port then you just need a HDMI Cable.
But if you dont have HDMI port. then you need two cables one from video and one for audio.
For Video you either VGA Cable(if you have VGA Port in your TV) or VGA to RCA Cable (Yellow Pin will be for video)
For audio You Need 3.5mm pin to RCA (white and Red for audio).

VGA has only analog video signal. It is not digital and does not have any audio either.
HDMI is a digital connection standard with both digital video and digital audio signals.

If your version of Aspire One has an HDMI slot then yes - it will work. Every HDMI cable, even the cheapest one, will work.
But regular Ones have just a VGA connector and only a VGA cable in a VGA slot of the tv will work. If your tv doesn't have that slot then you cannot connect it to the laptop.

How do i connect my acer 5738 laptop to my tv
Hi,
First of all your TV should support both HDMI and VGA.
If it does lets start with HDMI as you will get audio through the HDMI cable.
Connect the HDMI cable to the TV and set the source on the TV to HDMI using your remote control, connect the other end to the laptop, hold down Fn and hit F5 to toggle between screens.
