The "Brew Pause" feature doesn't work

The "Brew Pause" feature on my Cuisinart Brew Central coffeemaker no longer works. When I pull out the coffee pot to pour a cup while coffee still is brewing, the mechanism that stops the coffee from dripping doesn't stop; instead, it continues dripping onto the plate of the coffee machine. It's not obvious what is wrong with the mechanism.

It's the spring part on the bottom of that black basket. Now that it's broken there's really no fixing it. The only thing to do is call the manufacturer (800-726-0190) to get a new brew basket. They are open on weekends, so you could call them today and see what they can do (brew baskets are covered under the 3 year warranty, btw). Just have your model and serial number and you can probably have a new one ordered in less than 5 minutes. :)

Testimonial: "Very helpful suggestion to call the manufacturer. I was told to try the self-cleaning, as calcium deposits could be the problem. worked like a charm."

My Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker DCC-1200 Series has quit working? Is it under warranty?

you would have to determine if you are speaking under store credit warranty, the store will replace it with recpt usually with in 30 days, etc. or manufacture warranty if you have one it is usually 90 days maybe 1 yr. if you bought with a credit card, you have additional warranty period from visa, mastercard. check your credit card for this protection

I have a cuisinart coffee maker. I can set the

Unplug the coffeemaker for 20 minutes or longer - not a second less - in order to fully reset it. Then, when you plug it back in, turn the function dial to Clock again. Press and hold the HR button for a few seconds, and then set the hours. It should work now unless it got zapped, as you said.

Good luck!

Since I cleaned our Cuisinart 12-cup Brew Central with "Dip-it"  destainer last week, it takes about 3 times longer to brew, and it steams outrageously practically the whole time.  Using the same...

Run 1/3 caraffe vinegar and 2/3 caraffe water through the machine.
Dip-It is not the best cleaner to use with this coffeemaker - stick to distilled white vinegar.

If the cleaning fails to resolve the issue, and the unit was purchased in the last 3 years, call Cuisinart and see if you are still in-warranty.
