You have something between inner and outer tub remove top cover smell coming from air vents of outer tub then that is were it is
fun job its has to come all apart
you have a bearing in the drum support that has frozen and now the rubber wheel is burning up. The bearing needs to be replaced ASAP. You could damage the dryer if you continue to use it.
Replace the belt - it is old and worn out. The belt is made of rubber and is slipping, causing the smell and squeak. The belt heats up and becomes more flexible after the dryer runs a while; this is why the squealing stops.
the fault is lint build up around the dyer element the element must be cleared of all lint after years of use despite having a catcher lint does get into the dryer in time it will build around the heating element and start to burn this is unsightly but more so very dangerous as it does cause house fires have the element cleaned
It sounds to me like the motor is not turning, but the heating element is coming on. with no air flowing over the element, it is getting too hot. Can you operate the start switch with the top tilted up so you can see if the motor is turning but the drum is not, and just where the buzzing is coming from. Also, I would try the dryer on manual setting and on air dry to see if any setting works. Good luck
ok the rubber smell is your socks and underwear band,,and things with elastic in them ...ok open your dryer ,,look in the back where the hot air blows out,,,does it look like a burned iron..that where the clothe stick and melt too..just take a brillo with a little bit of water,,little dampness ans scrub the area..onthejob...
