I have a Black & Decker GH600 electric Weed Trimmer with AFS Auto Line Feed System that does not want to feed the line. Any thoughts?

I am a bit upset. I purchase a Black and Decker Trimmer and you guys want to charge me almost 10$ to give me a little bit of advise on a problem. Than I find in that email that if I have fixed the problem you want me to email you and tell you how I did it. FOR FREE. Well I did fix it. If you would like to know how mail me 10$. Only fair. SOURCE: auto feed will not work

It's cheapest to buy a new one. I had that problem last year.

Unfortunately, the battery pack as a unit has been discontinued, but the battery itself (part #243213-00) can be purchased online. Amazon sells it for $35.99. You can find it here:

String on weed wacker does not automatically advance.

the notice on the trimmer says it has an AFS Automatic Feed Spool, "NO BUMPING REQUIRED". I see that underneath the spool, there's a small plastic centrifugal weightwith a peg on it. . It kinda looks like it might advance the line each time the electric motor starts and stops. If there are loose clippings in there, or if the weight is stuck, it probably would cause the problem.

My Balck&Decker Grasshog won't automatically feed line.

Just replace the LEVER, Item #29, Part #598435-00, for about $3.00 (B&D, Dewalt). Just pull old level straight out (pliers) and push replacement in. Level end expands to hold it in place. No other parts. Forget cleaning and replacement the spool, graphite or oiling... just replace the lever.

I bought the electric grasshog trimmer. Worst investment I ever made on Garden supplies. The line is completely gong within ten feet of trimming. I've used it four times and gone through twenty spools. In the trash now.

Auto feed spool doesn't work

You may need to purchase a new spool housing, which may not be too hard to do, if you have one of the name brand trimmers. This replaces the whole mechanism that holds the line, the retaining ring, etc.

My grasshog gh600 wont feed the line anymore. i replaced the cap, spring and purchased a pre-spooled line to see if that was the problem. it wasn't. please assist

check out a white plastic lever at the back of the spool line. if its broken then replace it. cost of the parts around $4.00 or so. this parts controls the auto feed of the spool
