Not sure if you have external set top box or other inputs but you could try a power reset- Unplug the system at power point and dont plug in again for 15 seconds. Also check cables are inserted properly- including antenna.
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hello again you need to Rate my solution other wise they are not going to pay me! since i did give you correct answer to fixing your TV ThanK You Replace 3 capacitors cp150 2200uf use 25v and cp114 cp120 220uf 35v.
Before any repair or replacement, unplug the tv from the electricity
for an hour, plug it in. This forces a system reset on the tv and
may solve the problem. More likely you need a new lamp.
For bobby11 and luis, it is the power supply. Part Number EAY34797001 in the 42" and EAY34796801 in the 32". This is a known problem, and somebody should start a Class Action against LG over this one. Part is available online and easy to swap out for anyone with the most basic knowledge.
Hello Robert,
the picture tube on your TV set is exausted. Please contact your nearest Authorized Sony Service for further help/advice.
After all, Sony is a good choice. The next TV set you buy could be one of Sony-s Bravia LCD.
Kind regards,
Arpad
