Hi trishallan! I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern.. On the back of your Sansui STB-HD01 (Set top box) there is an input name - ANT In- Attached an external antenna to this terminal. If your LCD TV is an HDTV you can use the HD-YPbPr (you will see there Red, Green, Blue) on the back of the Sansui-STB-HD01, The cable that your going to use is the component cable - the color is Red, Green, Blue) - connect the 1st end to the back of the sansui-set top box and the other end is going to your LCD-TV. If your LCD TV is not and HDTV you cand use the other terminal which is on the right side of the HD-YPbPr, the SD-YPbPr, you can use the same cable - the Red, Green, Blue, .. then there is s display switch-Set this switch in conjunction with MODE switch according to your TV display capability.and there is a mode select- Set this switch in conjunction with DISPLAY switch according to your TV display capability, then u need to tune in the tv to compionent channel, use the LCDtv remote to cycle the input of your tv.

I have started setup for hd cable. Am connected to hdmi and have picture and sound but am unable to change channels. What do I need to do.

With the HDTV set for an HDMI Input that matches the HDMI Jack that you've connected to the cable HD STB (set-top-box or "converter"), use the cable STB remote to change channels on the STB - not the TV.

You can not change channels of the STB with your TV remote. You may however, be able to program your STB remote to operate your TV. Most will allow you to power the TV on / off; volume up / down / mute; change input (HDMI1 / HDMI2 / ANT / Composite / etc.) and even some of the more complex functions as well. Contact your cable company for more details.

Sansui sled2480. I am trying to use a cable splitter from my tv to my daughters Sansui. I have it hooked up, but she can only get the channel I'm watching. I had another tv set up the same way and she...

It seems you are using a set top box to access tv programs. I that case when a person changes the channel all the connected TVs will change. You should use extra set top box for multiple independent viewing.

I need to program my telus remote to turn my 46"

Press and hold TV, then OK at the same time. Let go of TV and OK, top buttons should quickly blink red then stop press the code 1019 then hit the bottom right button marked ENTER or OPTIONS
Remote should now work with tv.
To control volume and power at the same time... Press and hold STB and OK at the same time, let go, red blinking up top enter the code 977 STB should blink red a few times.
Hit STB, see if TV volume adjusts Hit POWER. see if both STB (Set Top Box) turns off and TV turns off.
All should be good.
If both TV and STB do not turn on/off, repeat the process for the code where you enter 977

I have a aiko set top box receiver, installed, we have pictiue, sound but no colour only black and white, what wrong?

Hiya Margy,
I know your query was 6 months ago,but I had a similar problem with connecting an Aiko SD set top box to our second older tv set & after 3 months only recently found the solution!
Our problem? When connected the tv picture went green! Nobody, including Tandy staff, knew what to do! (We also have an Aiko STB connected to our newer tv and it worked fine from day one.)
Anyway,it took 3 months but I finally worked it out.
Our problem was settings on the TV,NOT the STB.
Go to your TV's COLOR settings, pick a setting called 'COLOR SYSTEM' and change from 'ntsc' or 'pal'(depending on what country you're in) to AUTO.
It isn't enough to change the tv system on the STB's SETUP menu,or to change it on the TV's SYSTEM settings, you have to change it in the TV's COLOUR settings as well. Change colour system to 'auto' and see if that helps.(And of course, change all system settings on both the tv & the STB to AUTO or the right system for your country if you haven't done so) Hope this helps! Good luck!

Sansui 21in LCD VOLUME is lowering

If you are using a set-top box for Digital reception....check the output volume setting by going to the menu then audio set up section. On standard TV transmisssions the sound is often fine but on Digital....the box sets the feeder audio signal level.

Do we need to buy an antenna to get this TV ready for Digital TV?

LCD TV refers to the substance that creates the picture quality (it would be either LCD or Plasma or Tube) and HD refers to a crisp clear picture that can be attained. So your TV is an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV that is capable of receiving and displaying HD (High Definition) Picture.

What you need to check for is whether the TV has a built-in Tuner. This will either be SD (standard definition) TV Tuner or an HD TV Tuner. The box it came in will tell you or you may still have stickers on your TV.

If it has a built-in SD tuner you will be able to pick up HD channels but in a lower quality. In this case you will only need to plug the TV into a Wall-socket antenna or rabbit-ear antenna.

If it has a built-in HD Tuner you will be able to pick up HD Channels in full HD quaility picture. Simply by plugging the TV into a Wall-socket antenna or rabbit-ear antenna.

If your TV does NOT have a built-in TV-Tuner then this TV is clasified as "HD Ready". Which means that you have to purchase a Set Top Box (STB). you can get either HD or SD set top boxes. In this instance you will plug the cable from the wall socket into the STB then from the STB into the TV using either an HDMI cable (as long as your TV has an HDMI input) or through RCA cables which will be coloured Green, Blue and Red (i think red)

By the Way - best picture quality is from a wall-socket antenna.
HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface
STB = Set Top Box
High Definiton RCA cables will also be refered to as YPbPr/YCbCr (depending on equipment)
LCD = Liquid Crystal Display (the method used to make the picture on your TV screen)

If you have anymore questions, ask away.
