Me and my boyfriend brought this phone the same day mine will plug into any computer fine but his phone does not show up on any computer or anything tired every thing not sure what is wrong with his phone ? but mine is fine .....
If it is the same phone make sure the setting are the same on both phones, a easy way is to put the phones up to each their go to menu and setting to see if every thing is set the same.If that does not work he has to go to his manual and follow it step by step how plug the phone up to the computer

Youneed to plug in the phone to the computer while the computer is off. Leave it plugged in, then turn on your computer. This will load the drivers from the phone needed for the computer to recognize it....
Mine wasn't recognising the player through the USB cable so I followed Mantraguy's instructions to reload the firmware. Make sure though that you hold down the menu key before you switch on the player. Then it shows upgrade and you can reload the firmware. Of course you will lose all the songs on the internal memory but if it isn't working anyway.
