I have a frigidaire oven model # PLEB30S8CCB that will not get above 290 degrees. It appears to me that one of the heating coils is out. Am I correct in my assumption and how do I determine which one it is? I believe it could be the lower coil.
Similar Problem: I also have an Electrolux/Frigidaire (model PLEB30S8CCB, 2003) that no longer heats above 260 degrees. The oven does get warm, but does not reach the target temp. of 350 (or whatever). The lower element does not glow, but does get warm. A test with an Ohm meter reads 20 on the element. Should I replace the element or be looking for a power supply problem or both?
The coils should glow red when working. If the lower (bake) element does not glow it may be burnt out. Some ovens cycle the bake and broil elements during preheat and that mey be why you are getting some heat.
Hello Steve Spinner - From what you have described it sounds like the range is either experiencing a wiring failure or the outlet may be damaged. Could it be pulling too much current, is the range plugged into the correct breaker size? If any proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
