Try a nintendo approved DS Card in the system, if you can't get that to take then you know the slot in the DS is bad and the DS needs to be replaced.

If you can get a nintendo approved DS card to work then you know that you need to stay away from the 3rd party cards.

My son pulled out the r4i card while it was doing something and now the ds says there is no card inserted. i have tried formating the sd card and reinstalling the latest update and nothing please help

Hi C,

It's possible that somebody has updated the DSi console to the latest 1.4.3 firmware. A lot of flash cards, especially fake ones, no longer work on the 1.4.3 firmware. Always make sure the card does work before any console upgrade or this can happen. :-(

If you're 100% sure you have a genuine R4i card (it will show r4i-sdhc.com, with the hyphen [r4isdhc.com is fake] on the box or the card if it's genuine), then try the YouTube video attached to this post. Hopefully that will fix the issue, remember you need an older DSi (pre-1.4.3) or DS Lite to apply the update.

You'd probably have to buy a new DS card to back up your games on - if you're US based I'd recommend DSCardWorld.com but if you're Europe based then NDS-Gear.com is the way to go. Both of these places only sell genuine cards and are authorised resellers fo popular models like the Acekard 2i, Supercard DSTWO and Cyclo DS iEvolution.

DS won't read game

make sure that the carteidge is clean, and the cavity inside the DS is clean as well...you can do this by putting isopropyl alcohol on a qtip...make sure you let it dry before powering on your DS again.

Action replay

Have you tried inserting the game while the DS was off? I too find that the Action Replay doesn't recognize when you insert a game while the AR and DS is on. So you may just need to turn off your DS, insert the game, and then turn on your DS and activate the codes

DS Card Not Recognized

the card slot may be dusty, blow gently into it (making sure no spittle gets in) or get a clean cloth and wipe the outside of it. On no account must the slot get wet, or it will probably get damaged and will not work.
