Yellowish tint on all channels

Hi Noggi
i have a 50 in hatichi lcd rear projection tv which is showing a yellowish tint in the back ground on all channel, please help

    We have the same problem. We replaced the bulb at about $200. The yellowish tent is in an oval shape. The four corners and around the edges are the correct color. Please help.

Hi, bad news guys, from your brief description you have a bad light engine, you both need to have a tech verify this but thats most likely what is causing your symptom. This is NOT a layperson repair, you`ll need a tech, BMW Rider

50 in sony rear projection tv screen has yellowish or greenish tint in center 1/3 of screen
OMG. If it is a rear projection LCD then you have a bad light engine. Any good repair shop will repair for $200-250.
If its an older 3 tube projection then you have contaminated coolant in one or 2 of the picture tubes. Just drain out the fluid and replace with new. Should be able to do in 15 minutes. total cost $45.

there are so many technologies for the projection tv's ever one has their own caracteristic faults with out you mention the technoligy used on your tv will be deficult to help you but assuming is a lcd projection you must have a problem with the optical block the repair will be expesive if you do not have a manufactuer warranty for it

Tint on television stays a greenish color.
Tubes are probably dirty. Very expensive fix. Unless it has a warranty or is recently new, look for a local cheap one or one with a smashed screen of the same size. Easy to change the screens out and is very cost effective.

Greenish yellowish tint on the tv
I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.
