The answer to finding the cause of the leak is where we need to begin. Most start in the freezer section behind the rear panel where the defrost condensate is drained during defrost. Sometimes the drain hole freezes over and the water drains down into the freezer creating a large area of frozen water. Other times i happens as the water leaves the drain in the freezer and follows its path to the pan below your refrigerator to re evaporate into the air inside your home. If leaking inside the fresh food compartment then the cup behind the control panel may be over flowing and leaking down the back wall of the refrigerator and will need to be taken apart and cleaned to allow the water to continue down to the pan below the refrigerator. Sludge and dust or even ice may be blocking this line. Below is a link to a page that may help you resolve and fix this. If you have more questions feel free to let me know. Puddles of water in the fridge

OK that sounds like Ice may be blocking the defrost condensate drain. I will need your model number to help me to identify your model better but can leave you with some information about water leaking inside the freezer or fresh food compartment. Sears use a model number found around your door frame and looks like this for example 312.56989 Be right back with some links, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water leaking from under fridge

Sounds like either the drain hose is plugged or the bottom water tray is cracked. Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.

Smelly Ice and water leaking into top shelf

Does water in door dispenser taste bad? If not, Try arm and hammer fridge deoderizer. It will help to absorb fridge odors which may be clinging to water molecules in ice maker tray. Ice maker tray is open to freezer area.Water is very medium to infiltrate with odors. Try this first

Kenmore bottom freezer keep freezing up.

just called in a sears technician 150 dollar bill that was an easy fix. he says my bottom freezer kenmore fridge with warm fridge problem was due to the pathway being blocked by ice and garbage which is common with these fridges. he took off cover from the fridge bottom and poured boiling water down to the freezer. try that before you replace any parts or call in a tech. next time im getting a top freezer because the blower is on the top not in the middle with the bottom freezers and thus more problem prone.

Defroster leaks

you have a cloged evap. drain. the rf is defrosting properly but with the drain be clogged the water has to go somewhere which is generally in the crisper draws on top and bottom models. two way to clear up this issue. turn rf OFF for at least 48 to 72 hrs. to allow the drain to de-ice or take matters into your own hands and take the back panel off of the freezer and using boiling hot water pour it down the evap. drain tube until it flows like you just flushed a tiolet
