if their is a sound from the internal speaker then the problem is with in only in the earphone jack or in the connection. to access the internal part of the tv you need to remove the rear cover. locate the earphone jack terminal re soldered and check the connection at the board ( PCB). you can check also the continuity, attached powered pc speaker then use an analog tester and check weather their is a connection coming from the stereo input jack going to the terminal of the earphone jack of the tv. if no connection replace with new earphone jack. good luck hope this can helped.

Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail.

The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail.

Yes it does have a headphone jack. Lift the plastic door at bottom front center of TV to expose jack.

Buy a universal remote at WalMart for $10 and set the code to your TV according to the chart that comes with the remote. Most functions of your original remote should work if the code is correct. Sony - TV - try all listed codes on the chart, one of them should be able to control the TV. Check at local thrift store (Goodwill). You just may find a Sony remote there or possibly order one online from remotes.com

sony trinitron is a very old model CRT television and will most likely not have even the red/white/yellow jacks. It will have an antenna jack, and a earphone socket.

It may be that the tuner is bad. It works in bands and can lose upper bands. If you use a top of set box for cable it may need reset.

u have a problem either on the speaker or on the sound amplifying circuit. signal coming from the earphone jack is not amplified. check the speaker first. if its ok then check the audio output ic(integrated circuit). good luck!
