You should trace the wires as a connection may have corroded or otherwise disconnected. You can check the voltage at the tilt motor if you have a volt meter. If you have power to the unit, then the unit is probably bad.

Hi there.
You will be able to get the laptop powerboard from ebay or Sony themselves, although if you get from Sony it will be considerably more expensive.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

SOURCE: battery will not charge, first

A bad voltage regulator could cause the problem. Assuming the alternator is working correctly. Jump the vehicle with the battery disconnected and then disconnect the jumper cables. If the vehicle dies your voltage regulator or Alternator are bad, some vehicle have separate regulators from the alternator, if it continues to run the alternator is good but the voltage regulator is probably the cause.

Hi.

You have a short somewhere in the ignition wires. It should not be difficult to troubleshoot, but you will probably need to replace the ignition cylinder.
From what I understood, problem is likely restricted to remote control, the motor shoud be OK (good thing).

To find short (or eventually broken contacts), you need to get a multimeter (eg one here). Set the multimeter on Impedance(Ohms). With multimeter on Ohms test the ignition and the wiring harness. Check if there is contact between different wires, and if wires that should not be connected have continuity.

If there is contact between two points of a wire or between different wires, impedance reads zero Ohms or very low (circuit closed-continuity). If there is no contact, it reads infinity, same as on air (circuit open-no continuity).
If you do not find anything, that means that the short happens occasionally with vibration, in that case replacing the whole wiring harness is advisable.

Before proceeding check remote controls (or motor if concerned) documentation, find the support number and give them a call to check warranty status. Sometimes manufacturer gives more than one year on parts.

If you repute my solution helpful, then please take some times to accept the solution. Providing good repair tips requires time and skills, and your feedback is important for us.

Regards.

Ginko.

Hey i have a 2010 mercury verado 150 hp .when i use the boat i lose voltage and battery power about 3 hours of trolling .I just replaced the battery still draining and loss of volts . Help please

You are using too much power over that period of time. Sure you have nothing else connected to it? If not, then something in your motor ignition circuit is drawing excessive power - not enough to short out battery but enough to drain it prematurely. Igniter? Ignition electronics, if any?

My scooter will not work even when i put the key in the3 ignation it does absolutely nothing not even a click i got a spark and he checked all the fuses and every thing is normal it just wont turn on

Number one make sure your harness connections are good. Then check with a meter that power is going in the controller. Check output of the controller. If you are near the controller look for fuses. Scooter Doctor App

I had my lights and tilt working before realizing I had a kill switch at ignition. got my motor starting and running good now but now I have no tilt working or my lights. wondering are they a kill switch...

First check fuse box, look for one that is blown. also look for a loose or disconnected wire . It also may be that the lights and tilt are on the same circuit . if it is a blown fuse, replace it with the correct same fuse. Also check that connections at the battery are tight.

Boat motor won't start. battery fully charged

I would have the battery tested anyway to make sure you don't have a dead cell. Usually even with a weak battery the starter will try to engage the flywheel on top of the motor.Besides the battery check the fuse located on the motor. If all is good then you can remove the starter for testing and possible rebuilding.
