Bosch dishwasher back panel seal is corroded.

The black seal on the inside of our Bosch dishwasher - the seal that goes around that back panel and is between the back panel and the sides, top, and bottom of the dishwasher is corroding, causing water to leak into the bottom tray, which causes the dishwasher to stop running, displaying E:15. Is there a way to replace the black seal? I have not seen where I can purchase a replacement one. (This is NOT the door seal, but a seal around the back panel.)

This is a common fault and apart from trying silicone sealant , it is beyond repair

SOURCE: dishwasher leaking around the bottom of the door

I had the same problem in 2004, lots of Bosch trained repair techs, calls to Bosch, and the appliance dealer we purchased it from with no answers. Our kitchen cabinet bases were ruined by the flooding that occured. After months of trying to get help I insisted on speaking to a supervisor that told me it was my fault for putting a flexible cutting board on the right side a blocking the vent. I told her that no where in the manual did it mention this issue and none of their trained techs were aware of this flaw in their design. When I asked about getting my cabinets repaired she said that was not an option. When I mentioned possible legal action her response was "good luck with that". Here it is 2009 and they recently called about a possible fire hazard recall for the control panel. The Bosch trained tech that came out to complete the repair knew nothing about the vent/flooding issue.

SOURCE: dishwasher leak

To clear the drain in a few easy steps; find where the outlet hose connects into your house drain system, disconnect it and then see if the machine will drain into a bucket/tray. Try it both by gravity (if you can get the hose below the water level)and with the machine on if not. This will tell you if the blockage is in the house drain not the machine. If the house drain is clear, see if you can disconnect the drain hose from the machine end and check it isn't blocked.if this is not removable, try poking a bit of wire or similar down it, being careful not to go past where it enters the machine (measure your bit of wire against the outside of the hose first). As Joe says, if you are sure the accessible filters and everything you can get to easily are clear, a garden hose in the hole will possibly clear the blockage if you can get a bit of pressure - often the easiest way is to hold a rag tightly around the end of the hose and the hole you are trying to get water through. (Note you will get wet - be very careful of electical sockets etc). If this doesn't seem to clear the blockage then the pump is either faulty, or not recieving instructions from the control board to work (more likely, although you would expect an error message). Hope this helps, if you wish to change Joe's rating you can just by rating the advice again. Good luck :)

SOURCE: bosch dishwasher door leaks

Hi have you adjusted the door striker on the top part of the dishwasher? This is the part that the main door latches onto and can be adjusted in or out!

SOURCE: Door leak

Check the screws on the pump cover under the lower spray arm (the spray arm is easy to remove, the screws are torx - maybe a torx 10 or 15, so a regular screwdriver wont work). They come loose on ours every 6-12 months and spray water at the door, causing it to leak all over our wood floor. I routinely tighten those screws now before they come loose enough to cause the problem.
Replacing the door seal doesn't help - if you look at it closely the bottom of the door doesn't seal against anything, it just overlaps the front of the tub so water sprayed hard against the front (from a leaking gasket) can go under the door and up and over the tub front, making it look like a door seal problem.

Check the door seal. To do this, make sure the door and the rubber gasket is complete dry. Apply a liberal amount of liquid detergent around the rubber gasket. Then close the door. Open the door and look for the liquid detergent to transfer onto the door. If there is a gap, then you will need to replace the door seal.

How do I improve the seal on the hose from the water inlet housing to the sump port on my Bosch dishwasher?

I assume your using steel hoses. If not, you should be. The washer inside can be worn. Replace washer. Use. Teflon tape on threads. Over tightening can cause leaks. Buy new hoses.

Leak in bottom of machine

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you have nuisance water leaks around the base of your dishwasher, you may be using a detergent that is causing too much suds. Cut back on the amount of detergent you use, and see if that makes a difference.

Water that spills through the door vent is usually caused by improperly loading dishes. Leaks from the door itself may be caused by a faulty door gasket or door tightness adjustment. You should check the main tub seal, the door latch, the door gasket, the water-inlet valve, and the fill and drain hoses.

Also make sure the dishwasher is sitting level (you can adjust the front feet up or down, and many units have some type of levelers at the rear).

Water under the dishwasher may be originating from a leaky hose or loose hose connection. Remove the lower front panel, and check the hoses. The pump seal may be defective, too; replacing this is a job for an appliance repairperson.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

The door seals on this Kitchenaid dishwasher are pressure fit into a metal channel that runs along the inside of the wash tub.

To install, simply remove the old seal paying close attention to which way it was installed, apply a bead of adhesive inside the channel, then install the new seal in the correct direction. A test fit prior to applying the adhesive is a good idea and if you are having trouble with one side being to long, try folding the seal in half, take hold of the looped end, and insert it under the door latch. The reset should go in properly. The new seal will be a tight fit which is the way we want it so it may take some force to get it fully seated. If the door is hard to close, then the door seal needs some more work.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.
