Question about Jenn-Air JJW8530C Expressions Collection Dual Single Oven

Double oven (WW30430B) got the similar display dim/disappear prob

My Jenn-air double oven got the similar display problem. The displays becoem dimmer by the day and now the clock is very dim and the two temperature/timer displays are completely off. The C3 capcacitor looks OK. I will try to replace it to see if it helps. The thing that is confusing to me is that the J1 supply harness connector only has 12V on #2 pin. #1 pin is the ground. #3 and #4 pins only have ~0.3V. So I wonder if the power to the display board is not right. In that case, replace the display board will not fix the problem. If anyone has more insight to the J1 supply harness signals, it will help me to nail the root of the problem.

Thanks.

I did try to replace the C3 capacitor (35V,68uF,105C) and it fixed the problem! My local Radioshack does not have the right capacitor. I bought a close value and lower temperature (85C) capacitor from Radioshack to try out the fix. I am ordering the high temperature replaceement from the online store https://www.allspectrum.com/.

Jenn-Air Double oven (Model: WW30430B) display dim/disappear problem

Replacing the C3 capacitor (35V, 68uF, 105C) with a (50v, 100uf) capacitor from Radioshack solved the problem! This is the closed one I can find in Radioshack. Its operating temperature range is from -20F to 85F. Thanks a lot for posting the solution.

If you haven't already, replace the capacitors on the clock module. I had the same problem with a similar oven. See this link for more info:

Oven digital lighted display is dim

You need to replace the C3 capacitor on the control board

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2009/01/28/cheap-fix-for-a-dim-display-on-an-oven-control-panel/

You can replace only the C3 - it is 68uF / 35V and you can go to Radio Shack and get their part # 272-1028 - 100uF/35V one. It takes all but 10 minutes to re-solder the new one in place

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

Oven digital lighted display is dim

mY 27" WALL jENN air blows cold air out the vents when on cleaning cycle. The red buttons aren't lighted. The door locks, otherwise it bakes fine. I wonder if it is really cleaning?

Oven digital lighted display is dim

I replaced the C3 capacitor on the circuit board and works fine. This was mentioned in a prior post and took 5 minutes and was under $5.00 for the part.

The light and temperature display are very dim and hard to see.

We own a Jenn-Aire model W27400W oven. The display module has gradually gone dim over a period of several months prior to the end of the warranty, and the display is no longer visible. It is apparent that several Jenn-Aire oven models use the same display. Does Anyone else have the same problem, and If so, are they willing to join a class-action suit against Jenn-Aire with us?

Display panel

Dim display indicates a "failing" electronic oven control. It will continue to get dimmer and dimmer until it fails completely. You need to replace the "clock" (sometimes called the ERC <---Electronic Oven Control)

This is a tricky repair. Be sure you have the power off (at the breaker box) before attempting this.
