Whats the oil to gas ratio for a 1988 bayliner cobra with a 125 force motor?

Hi Dan,
Why do you want to disconnect the vital oil supply? If you are experiencing too much blue smoke or plugs oiling you can adjust the amount of oil fed to the engine via the secondary oil pump cable,the one that splits off from the throttle to the carb.
If you disconnect the cable it also stops the oil pump sending oil to inlet, winding out adjuster increases oil screwing in reduces.
As for ratio? trial and error as No knowledge/specification is available for Oil injected engines, poss 25:1 to start but don't blame me if you seize?
Quality synthetic oil is always a must, did you know you can also purchase smokeless two stroke oil?

Hi, McCulloch chain saws have different mixtures depending on whether you use their brand or generic and is also dependent on the model. The three mixes are 32:1, 40:1 or 50:1. If you are unsure, use the 40:1 and watch the smoke, too much smoke use less mix, but don't run with too little. If you see any coming from the exhaust it is too much and can't burn it all. Fuel/Oil Mixture

1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
2. Most gas in the US of A contains ethanol; not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 6 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH
