Configure router to different supplier

your Siemens PIN is the default written on the manual.

The orange router pin is appearing instead in the configuration page of the router (at times you have a sticker in the bottom of the router or on the back of it)

Some people find configuring Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 with BSNL is a little difficult. So I would like to present a tutorial to setup Internet connection with BSNL using Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600. Just like other BSNL modem/ router models, we do not need any setup disc to configure Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600. All we need is to follow some simple steps and adding some values. We can also setup wireless and wireless security from the web based setup page Configure Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 In order to configure Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 with BSNL follow the steps below.

1. Connect Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 to computer using Ethernet cable

2. Power on Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600

3. Type 192.168.1.1 on address bar of Internet Explorer and press enter

USER Name: admin
Password : admin

Now you can access the web based setup page of Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600.

I have only been able to find info for the 555, not the 572. Bit it MAY apply.

See if there is a reset button in the back of the unit. Press and release to reset the router.

Press and hold for 5 seconds and it will reset with everything for the factory defaults.

As I said, this actually pertains to the 555, but it may also work for the 572.

do you have a connection in your modem?
cause if you do you need to set up the router in bridge with it means it has to be on DHCP (the configuration)

Check the type of encryption the 572 is set for, I've found a few cases where it needs to be WPA and not WEP. As a temporary measure, you could switch off wireless security.
Lastly, check your not getting a channel conflict, if a neighbour has a wireless access point with the same channel, you may get problems, which will require logging onto the 572 and changing the wireless channel

I think there's a connectivity problem with your router please try to change it ...it will help a lot and buy a different company's router this time.

To set up your router: Step 1 Log into the web-based configuration of your router by opening a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and enter the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Enter admin for username and then your password (blank by default). Configure the WAN side to use PPPoE. Please consult your manual for login instructions since all routers are not the same. Step 2 Enter your screen name followed by @aol.com for the user name. Enter your AOL password in the password box. Step 3 You will have to set the MTU to 1400. AOL DSL does not allow for anything higher than 1400. Step 4 Apply settings. Step 5 Unplug (turn off) the power to the modem and router. Wait 1 minute and then power on only the modem. Wait about 1 minute and then power on the router. NOTE: If you connect to the Internet with a different Internet service provider and want to use the AOL software, you can do that without configuring the router?s firewall settings. You need to configure the AOL software to connect using TCP/IP (LAN). Contact AOL for more specific configuration information of their software.
